replying to @TheTravelCamel @TheTravelCamel @LindaPeters64 A1: Enough clothing layers which you can add or remove and remember a beanie and good mittens. Use wool if possible. Also good sturdy shoes are must. #TRLT

replying to @ASolastie @ASolastie @LindaPeters64 Excellent advice. I learnt a lot from the Finnish when I was in Finland on what to wear and how to protect oneself from the cold. #TRLT

replying to @LindaPeters64 @LindaPeters64 @TheTravelCamel Definitely! Wool in general is the best material because it warms even when wet. Merino wool is the best but remember to choose items made of no-mulesing wool. #TRLT

replying to @TheTravelCamel @TheTravelCamel @CaitlinKellyNYC A4: Experiencing polar night in Lapland. "Kaamos" as we call it in Finland. That magical blue colour of daytime in midwinter when the sun doesn't rise at all. #TRLT

replying to @ASolastie @ASolastie @CaitlinKellyNYC I found that colour in Finnish Lapland to be fascinating. Now, I know the name for it - 'Kaamos'. #TRLT

ASolastie

replying to @TheTravelCamel @TheTravelCamel @CaitlinKellyNYC Actually it is not the colour, it is the polar night time i.e. time when the sun stays below the horizon. It can be days, weeks or even months depending on how far north you are. #TRLT

replying to @ASolastie @ASolastie @CaitlinKellyNYC I find this very interesting. #TRLT

replying to @LindaPeters64 @LindaPeters64 @ramblRramblR A5: One word: Lapland. Snow, skiing, dogsledding, polar nights, northern lights. Do I have to say more?
This picture is not mine but it shows snow formations which are trees covered by thick snow. #TRLT

replying to @ASolastie @ASolastie @LindaPeters64 @ramblRramblR This was my favourite part of Finland during my visits. Flat landscape with lots of space - reminded me of Australia but with much, much more snow. #TRLT

A5. You can go almost anywhere in the north part of Sweden and see beautiful places. I love to go to Grövelsjön that is just a few hours from my place. Beautiful place all year around. #trlt
