Q4: What little things about your ancestry have you discovered that surprised you or made you appreciate your ancestry more? #CultureTrav
A4: The strong Dutch and Polish influence wasn't surprising but updated results showing Swedish and Norwegian roots are interesting to me! #CultureTrav

replying to @Nicolette_O @Nicolette_O A4. Most surprising was finding a photo of my great grandfather in someone else's tree and thinking it looked exactly like my 1st cousin. The resemblance was uncanny! #CultureTrav
replying to @Nicolette_O @Nicolette_O A4: terrible generalization — and after five visits to Ireland — they seem to enjoy my 3 favorite activities: lively conversation, storytelling and a stiff drink #culturetrav
A4: Not really anything. I was hoping for a surprise of something a bit exotic rather than *just* English and German (the major ethnicities in the U.S.). So, gotta find other ways to be original and exotic : ) #CultureTrav
replying to @Nicolette_O @Nicolette_O A4) That on one side of my family dates back to pre American Revolution and the other side has a Nobel Prize winner. #CultureTrav

A4. @Nicolette_O @brianmayroam There are a couple of #cruise lines like @UniworldCruises that have specific itineraries that allow you to trace your ancestry. I want to go on this one https://t.co/VrOLb6vynX #CultureTrav
A4: My biggest "A-Ha!" came from putting dates and info together in focus....as in "wait a minute, my mom wasn't born premature...." Sometimes it's connecting the small dots that are the most fun! #culturetrav
A4 I've found family photos I'd never seen before on other trees. I've also connected with DNA cousins who love the ancestor hunt as I do. Oh, and my Dad's 1st cousin who he'd lost 30 years ago! They were able to connect just before she passed away. #culturetrav
replying to @Nicolette_O @Nicolette_O A4: My great-great grandfather was a trapeze artist, he moved to Ireland and travelled around with a cinema. He set up a cinema in Co. Limerick that was a family run business until 1972. It isn’t in the family anymore 😔 1/2 #CultureTrav

replying to @Nicolette_O @Nicolette_O A4 Research is a constant surprise if you have access to decent records, I think. I was interested to discover that of my families that were in what's now the US before the Revolution, some took one side or the other in Rev & many just tried to stay out of the way. #CultureTrav
