Q5: Have you ever reconnected with "long lost" relatives? Do you still keep in touch with relatives from the land of your ancestors? If so, how? #CultureTrav

A5: I haven't reconnected with "long lost" relatives per se, but I see family in Poland and from the Netherlands! Here a pic with my mom and Polish who recently visited NYC (and we explored Roosevelt Island)! #CultureTrav

A5. I don't tend to see my extended family much; maybe once or twice a year. Chris's family are much better at getting together and keeping in touch. It's nice. #culturetrav

A5: I'm writing a book about an ancestor from #Norway and I just emailed a distant cousin -- in Norwegian! #CultureTrav

replying to @brianmayroam @brianmayroam A5. Yes - the email/contact form on @Ancestry has allowed me to connect with so many long lost family members. It is awesome. I love hearing stories about family members that I haven't heard before #CultureTrav

A5 My father connected with a few when he was tracing current descendants a few years ago a couple of pleasant exchanges and then strong hints about money. I'm therefore not interested! #culturetrav

replying to @brianmayroam @brianmayroam A5: I briefly exchanged emails with a very distant relative. Is Ancestry when I was doing the research, but we’ve lost touch. We had both traced out common ancestors to a small village in Germany.

replying to @Nicolette_O @Nicolette_O A5) Kinda, at my cousin's wedding last month I saw some relatives that I hadn't seen in 25 to 40 years. #CultureTrav

replying to @Nicolette_O @Nicolette_O A5: Back in 1998 my grandfather’s niece sent a letter to an Irish magazine looking for family of her dad John Lane from Granard, Co. Longford. She was in Australia. My grandmother spotted the letter and replied back #CultureTrav 1/2

A5 Very moving to see Anne Frank’s House in Amsterdam. They do a wonderful job telling her story and reminding us that history’s lessons are to be learned. Everyone should come here, it is so important to remember all the lives taken from us.
