@Nicolette_O A3 Language is part of our culture, that connects us and becomes an intrinsic part of who we are. Learning new languages helps us to better understand other countries, cultures, customs and people.

One of my favorite sayings picked up traveling is inshallah. Only thing I thought it was scary with Turkish cabdrivers---we'll make it out alive inshallah, not because of cautious driving! #CultureTrav
replying to @Nicolette_O @Nicolette_O A5 #Inshallah is my favourite saying meaning god willing it’s an Arabic term #culturetrav

A6: David Sedaris tells how when he lived in Paris he ordered food in plural b/c he couldn't remember the noun's gender. I've made this mistake, &, like him, got 2 cakes because a Parisian waiter wanted 2 teach me a hard lesson. Instead, it was sweet. #CultureTrav
A6: I've seen some hilarious menu items, but can't photos of these right now. Loved this fun old Guinness ad at the Guinness Storehouse in Dublin! Definitely NOT a translation fail, but it's simply fun! #CultureTrav
A6: I totally thought these shirtless dudes were sexually harassing us in #Leon, #Spain, but it turns out they were yelling, “Hey ladies, we want to show you our DUCKS!” 😝 Whew! #CultureTrav
replying to @Nicolette_O @Nicolette_O A6 Our guide we hired in #Gozo was fabulous so we asked him to take us out again the next day back to Xlendi Bay at 9. Us meaning 9 am, but he didn’t show. On going for dinner that night he was outside our hotel waiting at 9 pm. it was quite funny 😂 crossed wires #culturetrav
replying to @travelcricket8 @travelcricket8 I was taught "Parler comme une vache espagnole" in french which translates to "I don't speak the language well." Hilarious that a Spanish cow ('vache espagnole') is involved in this phrase. #CultureTrav
