replying to @travelcricket8 @travelcricket8 😊 thanks, but I feel like I should know more! #culturetrav
RT @Adventuringgal: A1. I speak English and French. I want to learn Thai, Spanish and Italian! #CultureTrav https://t.co/NSI55ZmyzQ
A1: English is my native tongue and I speak solid (but not eloquent) conversational Spanish. I know enough Arabic to help my friends' mothers in the kitchen and talk to toddlers and I can do simple things like order food and understand directions in German. #culturetrav
replying to @TravelTales_CA @TravelTales_CA haha! ;) Same here as far as all the languages go, hehe! #CultureTrav
A2: So many times. Hm, one time, lots of hand gestures and piecing together of the minimal words I knew when living in Korea and Japan. Oh, and beer. Beer fixes all language barriers, I think. #CultureTrav

A2: Dating a French guy when I knew little of the language and he barely knew any English. We tried with thr help of apps, but it wasn't easy to communicate beyond basic stuff. I'm better off without him though, for non-linguistic reasons. 😉 #CultureTrav https://t.co/FN3JmM3AUu

replying to @Nicolette_O @Nicolette_O A2. Yup, in Istanbul, some of the market guys couldn’t speak English and I can’t speak Turkish. I had to use the power of pointing and the odd charades. Luckily they also had a sense of humour! 🤣 (and I got what I wanted!). #CultureTrav

A2 Almost on every trip and even sometimes at home. Although Romance languages are easy for me, I have little to no knowledge of Arabic or any Asian language. I think my most challenging #adventure would be to travel to #japan in 19 for the #kumanokodo #culturetrav
