Q6: Has travel changed your view of "home" (or the idea of creating a home away from home) in any way? #CultureTrav

A6: My view of "home" has changed a lot over time. I think, more importantly, is that I see home as being around loved ones, and creating a sense of home anywhere. #CultureTrav

RT @thewandererblog: @Nicolette_O A5. I travel solo these days, so I completely avoid this 😅 #CultureTrav

replying to @Nicolette_O @Nicolette_O A5: Literally say those words: :we'll agree to disagree so let's drop it". and carry on with something neutral. Although some ppl do tend to intimidate w/loud voices & interjections & I don't respond well to that lol. Depends on the person too. #CultureTrav

Okay, weird comment: I find "for the view" landmarks SO FRUSTRATING. I am so bad at taking pictures of those large expanses of city, and they all look the same, and it's just so BORING. Is it just a preference I have or is it a skill I need to learn? #culturetrav https://t.co/Q1eCJ4y1xv

replying to @thewandererblog @thewandererblog haha! :) Solo travel is excellent! No disagreements to be had unless maybe with a local (hopefully not). #CultureTrav

replying to @foodguruchannel @foodguruchannel @Nicolette_O Ah, so lovely! And what a treat for you to live so close to such an admired landmark! #culturetrav

replying to @BespokeTravels @BespokeTravels At least you kept trying! I feel this way about London. I tell all NYC visitors to get OUT of midtown as fast as possible and head to East and West Village; UWS and UES. Midtown is insane. Locals like me avoid it! #CultureTrav

A6 #Travel has changed my view of home, myself, and the world. It is why I travel. I prefer the word #adventure In fact, I believe that adventure is a form of meditation - Watch my explanation of why: https://t.co/RZZm9JWNxS #culturetrav

I'm always amazed by the street art I discover, and the amazing friendly locals.

It's so bad & have been mainly indoors for about a week -- I feel worse about the people in the #ParadiseFire about 3-4 hours northeast of us -- rain is coming next week -- I'll be outside celebrating #CultureTrav https://t.co/0xQZ3yTWGc

replying to @Nicolette_O @Nicolette_O A3. This is a great question. Due to mom's health condition we can't do too much on the go. I walk where we can, make use of public transit and when we really need, @uber @lyft or @grab. In certain markets like Japan however trains are definitely our #1 choice! #CultureTrav

A5: When conversations escalate, I fall back on my Midwestern roots and offer everybody something to eat! Differences don't seem as stark when you're sharing a table or deciding on a new restaurant, food truck or dessert spot to try. #culturetrav

@Nicolette_O #CultureTrav A6: .... i don't think i can answer this in a tweet.
TL;DR: "Home" is wherever you find it.

replying to @Nicolette_O @Nicolette_O Def. The touristy things we did were good (even the military history museum was fun despite me not having any interest in wars; I got to lie on the floor and take pics), but we did so few? We were in Vienna twice and never got to go to the one place I'd planned to. #culturetrav

A6 I think you can have multiple homes, if you're lucky enough to visit a place multiple times. I've grown up going to the @DelawareBeaches and they feel like home. Also, visiting my parents in Key Largo, that's become a home for me too. @VisitSouthDel #culturetrav

replying to @LixHewett @LixHewett Bah! That's frustrating (the latter). Would love to visit Vienna! #CultureTrav
