Unique Stays

A3: Hotels CAN be unique. I choose based on needs, price, access. Sometimes they are part of workshop/small group tour. Also, friends/fam always good options. Here I am camping w friends in a fallow Oregon tulip field, path of totality for the 2017 solar eclipse #CultureTrav

A2 Although the view was spectacular it was the authenticity and friendliness of my hosts: Manuel and Roberto of @VParadisoBCA -we had many amazing adventures #hiking #beaches #foodie finds & more. #baracoa #cuba must be on your to-visit list. #culturetrav #travel #cubicletocuba

replying to @epicureanexpats @epicureanexpats Yes, I did, only on one night though. Not very strong, but I was excited enough. #culturetrav

A2. When it helps me get close to the land and its people. That's what's most important to me while traveling. #CultureTrav

A3 I like a mix of hotel and unique stays. Hotels are good when you're exhausted, need to do some work, or need a reliably hot shower. #culturetrav

A1: We stayed in Cabo Polonio, Uruguay, a beach town with no electricity and no plumbing. It was challenging, but the stars were some of the most beautiful we have every seen! #culturetrav

A3: Depends on the place. Sometimes an area's hotels are cooler and sometimes, a unique BNB or something like a State Park cabin works best! @WVStateParks @WVtourism #LoadedAnswer #CultureTrav

A3: I prefer to stay at hostels, B&Bs, Air BnBs, apartments, and things like that for a more unique cultural travel experience #CultureTrav

A3). I like different things - heck I often stay on a sailboat when in MontereyBay, CA! #culturetrav

replying to @Nicolette_O @Nicolette_O A3: Usually I like to stay in hotels, unless the place is known for its unique accomodation - like the Houseboats in Srinagar, Kashmir and the tents in Masai Mara, Kenya #CultureTrav https://t.co/lyhMoUwHDT

replying to @Nicolette_O @Nicolette_O I like both & depends on where I am. I do love a good castle or palace stay #Portugal offers the royal treatment for affordable prices #CultureTrav

#culturetrav A4: I once stayed in what could be described as a backpacker hostel in Livingston, Zambia, where the private rooms were ... the same as local traditional houses. And all named after famous African leaders.

A4: If you stay somewhere locally owned, you can learn about the people behind a place, which is many times more interesting than the place itself. @Explore_Brevard

replying to @Nicolette_O @Nicolette_O The best ones are hosted by kind locals who are willing to let you get to know them and the place they love. Bigger international brands have started doing "regional tours" and workshop activities with local artisans. #CultureTrav
