A1: Though not a holiday tradition, I vividly remember visiting a mosque in Cairo with my mom. We felt very welcome by the women (separate entrance), and handed mint to cleanse our hands, and took off our shoes. I still recall prayer chants. #CultureTrav

replying to @travelcricket8 @travelcricket8 #CultureTrav A1) Not holiday-related, but I love the Bermuda shorts tradition on that island (and the long socks that go with them), as well as the mopeds to get around.

replying to @travelcricket8 @travelcricket8 A1: In Peru, there is a tradition called Takanakuy that is practiced in Cusco. It’s basically where you fight against someone you have fallen out with during the past year, and then hug and make up after! #CultureTrav

A1 In #Estonia, the children have to sing for Santa in order to get their gifts. It's definitely unique, and so cute!

Whoever gets it (must give it back) will have good luck the next year.

I was told that by a local and surprised! #CultureTrav
