A1 I discovered that I can feel at home almost anywhere in the world -- as long as I can have a coffee or a glass of wine #CultureTrav

#culturetrav A2: ah now. I tend to not travel with expectations in the first place.
But, like, I was expecting the Grand Canyon to be nothing more than "a big hole in the ground". I was ... half right; it *is* a big hole in the ground. But ... what a hole! :p

A2 I would have to say #Spain - I ended up living there for 2 years. Since I have returned several times. I fell in love with it AND not only bc of the food. There's something right about sitting and having a coffee instead of taking it to go. Be in the moment! #culturetrav

A1: I've learned that I am as diverse as the country I represent. I am just as happy in a tent as I am a luxury hotel. I'm good with a 5 star buffet or homemade wine in a dark cellar. I've learned I'm quite adaptable. #CultureTrav

A2. We always percieved Cancun, Mexico, as a purely party/vacation spot, but during our visits through work, we have found so much more outside of the resorts to do! #CultureTrav

replying to @Nicolette_O @Nicolette_O A2: When I was visiting Indonesia, I had the perception that I am going to enjoy Bali the most but guess what Indonesia is not just Bali, it has so many other beautiful places like Gili Islands which I enjoyed the most! #CultureTrav

@Nicolette_O A2 our hospitable, friendly hosts in Germany welcomed us, so much so, that Germany reminded me of home and stays in my heart.π

A3: How much diverse beauty there is out there and how there just isnβt enough time in life to see it all. Cherish what you do. #CultureTrav

#culturetrav A2: also, it's partly one of my "travel niches" to visit places that have low expectations surrounding them; places that are lesser visited & known. And the idea is that I make them into places that defy those expectations.
[my hometown]

#culturetrav A3: have they? Hmmm, I don't know. See, I grew up with maps, encyclopaedias, TV ... I've always known what the world is. Also, remember I'm attracted to places that have a lesser reputation. So my perceptions of them were understated anyway.

replying to @Nicolette_O @Nicolette_O A3: I have started to believe in humanity and have learned that wherever you go people are accepting! So an unknown land never stays an unknown land. #CultureTrav

A2 I had never had much interest in Scotland, but my @VikingCruises visit this summer really opened my eyes to the history and the culture #CultureTrav

replying to @RTWBarefoot #culturetrav A3: I think what I mean is, I knew about the world before I travelled in it, so maybe what I've learned is that everything is like I expected, only *more* so. More colour, more vibe, more openness, more death, more anger, more love.

We went to Ohrid because the name was funny and it was one of the best trips we have done - old town, lake, churches, mountains πππ#CultureTrav

replying to @Nicolette_O @Nicolette_O We will be back in the big city soon for more adventures. #travel #CultureTrav
