replying to @Nicolette_O @Nicolette_O A2: I've traveled a fair bit of France -- baguettes, small plazas w cafe tables, etc -- but would you ever expect to find black bulls, pink flamingos and bullfighters there? Yes, in the Camargue #culturetrav
replying to @Nicolette_O @Nicolette_O A2: my 1st visit to India was very overwhelming, I was worried #SriLanka would be, too. It totally wasn’t. I love Sri Lanka: laid back, the people are friendly & warm, the food was fantastic and the country is really easy to get around. Been 2x! #CultureTrav

Q3: How have your perceptions about our world changed while traveling? #CultureTrav
A3: How much diverse beauty there is out there and how there just isn’t enough time in life to see it all. Cherish what you do. #CultureTrav
A3: The main thing that travel has shown me is that a lot of people want similar things, and people would like to understand/be understood. Many of us want fundamentally similar things. #CultureTrav
replying to @StromfieldAdvs @StromfieldAdvs @Nicolette_O Coz no one knows our budget and preferences better than ourselves. 😉 #CultureTrav
#culturetrav A2: also, it's partly one of my "travel niches" to visit places that have low expectations surrounding them; places that are lesser visited & known. And the idea is that I make them into places that defy those expectations.

replying to @TheWildPassage @TheWildPassage So cool! I have heard similarly, though a friend from Bali can't praise it enough, either. Hope to explore it one day! #CultureTrav

RT @BespokeTravels: @t_jh2009 @Nicolette_O Such a good lesson for when I'm back home too. To have patience with visitors. #CultureTrav
Also such an important reminder as the spaces available to us for this keep diminishing. #CultureTrav https://t.co/gVF1ptWc87
replying to @BespokeTravels @BespokeTravels @t_jh2009 Amen! Very true! And in NYC, people will unexpectedly speak to you in a different language (maybe hoping that you also speak theirs, lol) :) #CultureTrav

A3 The world is far less dangerous than I have been led to believe. #culturetrav https://t.co/NEiJvRp3Lq
A3: #CultureTrav It’s been 20+ yrs since I’ve traveled internationally, so I am seeing through the eyes of fellow bloggers. Some Modernizations, then some rustic and old traditions. Thanks to all the awesome #bloggers!
RT @BCpostergirl: @Nicolette_O I never knew that #Edinburgh was rich in history and a genius pocket in this world.

replying to @Nicolette_O @Nicolette_O Q2) I grew up watching the TV show M*A*S*H which gave me an idea of the South Korean countryside which was completely different from what I was when I was there in 2017. #CultureTrav
replying to @RyanTravelsEats @RyanTravelsEats Love that sentiment, Ryan! :) We need to make up our own minds about places rather than taking word for word what media may have written, etc. #CultureTrav
replying to @Nicolette_O @Nicolette_O @RoarLoudTravel @HeidiSiefkas @poetixtrip @_SpudontheRun_ @OrganicRoadMap @RoadtripC @markandkylee @HHLifestyleTrav @TravelBugsWorld @travelwithirine Thank you, Nicolette! These lands have brought so much beauty and health to our lives we can't help but *LOVE* sharing it with others! #CultureTrav
replying to @Nicolette_O @Nicolette_O A3: everyone wants the same basic goals: their children to be educated and comfortable; health; security; and justice. We are all so much alike it now astounds me that people can find so many differences to divide us. #CultureTrav
replying to @travelcricket8 @travelcricket8 A3: I've learned people are all pretty much the same. Everyone in every country is just like me: trying to live their best lives, to do what they feel is best for them, and trying to be happy. America, Europe, South America, Asia...we're not so different. #CultureTrav
A3 My perceptions of the world...I know now that I don't know even the half of it. I know enough to know I have a lot to learn. AND always trust your gut. #CultureTrav
A3: That people are generally good. We have more in common that we realize. #CultureTrav

RT @obligatraveler: #CultureTrav A2) We were told Mexico was sketchy, but we thought it was wonderful https://t.co/oYud5Qw3Lc
#culturetrav A3: have they? Hmmm, I don't know. See, I grew up with maps, encyclopaedias, TV ... I've always known what the world is. Also, remember I'm attracted to places that have a lesser reputation. So my perceptions of them were understated anyway.
