CultureTrav
Q1: Our views about our own surroundings and the world at large can change as we explore. How have your views on travel evolved over time? #CultureTrav
A1: I've learned to have more patience in general. I used to feel the need to constantly be on the go, but learning to slow down and appreciate the journey has been priceless! #CultureTrav
A1: I've always appreciated the opportunity to travel at all (no matter for how long or how far). I owe that to my family who encourage me to travel, be open to experiences, and be grateful to travel at all! Pic from @visitsandiego

A1: My perspective of travel has changed in valuing quality over quantity. I once wanted as many different stamps in my passport as possible, but now it’s more important for me to immerse myself in a culture and better understand it — which takes more time! #CultureTrav
A1 Honestly, not much. We travelled together for the first time in 2007 and were hooked on the food and traditions of other cultures. We are still amazed by how much we learn from each place we visit and how much we actually learn about ourselves! #CultureTrav

replying to @Nicolette_O @Nicolette_O A1 I feel that I have a greater appreciation of culture when I travel. I don’t think I really appreciated learning about culture when I first started traveling. #CultureTrav

A1: #CultureTrav ..a lot has changed since I started on this journey ..
Now I try to seek places which are off the typical travel map and intermingle with locals a lot more and try to spent more time at any given place
A1 Hiya @Nicolette_O @travelcricket8 and all on #CultureTrav - I'm Hi-d from outside of @visitlauderdale - When I was younger #travel was about seeing as much as you can in a short amount of time. Now, I'm about experiencing places, learning, and meeting people on a deeper level.
A1: My early travel experiences were mostly all inclusives and cruises but then took a trip to #Spain - WOW - that trip completely opened my eyes to all the other possibilities for exploring the world and I kept pushing my #travel-boundaries ever since! ✈️💙 #CultureTrav

replying to @Nicolette_O @Nicolette_O A1: I always thought I was a beach gal, but the older I’ve gotten, the more I’ve found myself enjoying desert and mountains more. I think it’s really that I like to get away from crowds. #culturetrav

replying to @Nicolette_O @Nicolette_O A1) The views aka stereotypes of various cultures and countries that have been imposed on me over the years have been broken down from my travels, its a benefit that I didn't realize that I'd be getting when I started going abroad. #CultureTrav

A1. Travel covers a myriad of ideas - from exploring to relaxing. I have realized that all reasons are valid. I used to dash around thinking I had to see everything; then, I spent five days in Cortona, Italy and just walked around the streets and ate gelato. #CultureTrav
replying to @Nicolette_O @Nicolette_O A1: Watching the Orcas virtually dance in harmony in the Antarctic Ocean, I realized the impact of human interference in natural surroundings. I am lot more self-aware since #CultureTrav https://t.co/xXiM1yGgE5
replying to @travelcricket8 @travelcricket8 A1. Like @SocioKathy was saying, I have also changed in a way that quality goes over quantity. We used to travel as much as possible (which learned us a lot and gave unforgettable memories). But the world is changing and I value slower travels and hidden gems nearby. #CultureTrav
#culturetrav A1 Yes definitely, starting as a backpacker I wanted to see as much as possible, didn't want to pay much for accommodation, being uncomfortable was kinda part of it...these days with full time 'responsible jobs' we want some time out as well so hotels more important

A1: With globalization & long-term travel, it’s increasingly harder to “travel like a local”, esp in big cities. I’m sitting at a café in Santiago, near a business district. I could be in any major city. #CultureTrav

replying to @Nicolette_O @Nicolette_O #CultureTrav A1 I'm tourism director for a small town in Yakima Valley, central WA State. I used to think of tourism & travel as destinations such as beaches, resorts, far flung places & while I still do those, I've now discovered small towns & offbeat places. Just like our town
replying to @Nicolette_O @Nicolette_O A1 deep question. My current view is this. Let me order another beer and think anout that. #travel #CultureTrav #usgulfcoast @VSPC
A1: I've realized that it's so very personal. No one else can really have the same experience even though they may travel to the same destination and do the exact things. #CultureTrav

replying to @Nicolette_O @Nicolette_O A1: Always thought travel had to be with someone or in a group. Those are fun too but travelling solo wasn't even in my vision or lexicon until 2 years ago & I worked up the courage to take the plunge soon after. Now, I'm addicted lol. #CultureTrav
