Q1: Tell us about a chance encounter with a wild animal during travel. Where were you? Got a pic? #CultureTrav
A1: The ocean was churning w pods of common dolphins during a recent family whale-watching trip. We also saw California Grey Whales very close to the surface, but dolphin acrobatics won out. They played in the ship's wake 4 the last hr of the trip. #VisitDanaPoint #CultureTrav
A1: Spotted a lot of these gophers (?!) in Colorado on and off the hiking trails. #CultureTrav

replying to @Nicolette_O @Nicolette_O A1: I made friends with this pizote at Tikal. We saw one off in the distance, and then happened to walk down a path into a group of about 20 of them. They were cute, but skittish if we moved to fast. If we didn't move, they had no problem checking us out. #CultureTrav

replying to @Nicolette_O @Nicolette_O A1) Years ago while returning from Rainbow Falls in Devil's Postpile National Monument in the Sierra-Nevada Mountains I crossed paths with an adolescent Bear on the trail. Unfortunately things moved too quickly for a photo. #CultureTrav
replying to @Nicolette_O @Nicolette_O A1 My favorite is still when I was walking along the beach at Finhorn Bay in northern Scotland watching a few seals chasing meals at high tide when one suddenly popped up out of the water a meter from me, facing me. Not sure which of us was more shocked! #CultureTrav
A1 I went on an excursion to see eagles on my @VikingCruises cruise last summer. We were skunked, but on the way back we ran into this guy #CultureTrav
A1 #culturetrav this is a monkey with Jim's breakfast at about 5.30 am in Angkor Thom, Cambodia !!!!!
replying to @travelcricket8 @travelcricket8 #CultureTrav A1) I've written my first book about this exact subject. When wild cheetahs spent 90 minutes hopping in and out of my safari vehicle in Kenya. Currently trying to get it published.
