A1: I was refused admittance to Bahrain. I never found out why for sure, but I suspect it was because I listed "Editor" as my occupation and they thought 'dangerous journalist with a blog'. I had to fly on to Qatar and meet up with my tour group 2 days later. #GenXTravel

That it was a museum about how the Israelis got independence from the British may be irony ... or sheer bloodymindedness!

A1: I wasn't allowed to board a flight from Dubai to Buenos Aires because I didn't have a visa. When I left the U.S. 2 months before, none was needed. Since then, it was a new year, policies had changed, and I didn't realize. So, I had an unexpected extended UAE stay. #GenXTravel

#genxtravel it's always a worry of mine that it'll happen (especially into the USA!), but I've never been refused entry to a country yet.

Q2: Have you ever boarded the wrong plane, arrived at the airport on the wrong day or something similar? #GenXTravel

A2: My worst flight blunder was missing my flight to NOLA for Mardi Gras because of bad weather and icy roads, which made the drive to the airport longer. So my friend and I spent the day in the airport waiting for the next flight about 8 hours later. #GenXTravel

A2 When I moved to China, I gave the school the wrong date of arrival because I wasn't paying attention to the time/date change. They got worried when I didn't show up, but then double-checked my itinerary. #GenXTravel

A4: I'm very organized, so no forgetting of any major item. But, I am a consistent sock underpacker. Surprising, as I tend to overpack most everything else. #GenXTravel
