Q1: What is your most memorable trip? Why? Where did you go and with whom? Share a photo(s). #GenXTravel

A1: My first time outside of the U.S.--a year in Europe after college--was very memorable (can a whole year be considered a trip?) for all the new experiences (first flights, hostels, new countries, etc.) #GenXTravel

A1: My southern Africa trip this past spring was by far one of my most memorable: A helicopter ride over Victoria Falls, my first safari, a vegan dinner party, winery tours, and a broken ankle and first-ever surgery in JoBerg--it had it all! #GenXTravel

Q2: Who are the most memorable people you’ve met in your travels? Why? Share a photo(s). #GenXTravel

Q2. Who are the most memorable people you’ve met in your travels? Why? Share a photo(s). #GenXTravel

A2: Years ago, I met many people while hosteling around Europe. However, I haven't been meeting many people lately in my travels. Although this guy from my spring travels was memorable. @RTWBarefoot #GenXTravel

A1 Too many memorable trips. My last trip to Tokyo definitely was. Met an old friend there and introduced him to my local friends. Also met up with an expat friend there. #GenXTravel https://t.co/9af0tt2KHK

A2. I dont know that I have an answer for this one. People are all interesting in their own way. And also, in some cases it is the entire experience rather than a specific person. #GenXTravel

A2 All the people I still talk to, obviously. Hooray for friends around the world! #GenXTravel https://t.co/1KEKatFPbU

replying to @ChinaMatt @ChinaMatt Unfortunately I have lost touch with friends I met many years ago in my "hosteling days". #GenXTravel

Q3: What is the most memorable accommodation you’ve stayed in? Where was it? Share a photo. #GenXTravel

Q3. What is the most memorable accommodation you’ve stayed in? Where was it? Share a photo. #GenXTravel

A3: My most memorable accommodations: A castle hostel in Barcelona, a ship hostel in Stockholm, the oldest continuously used hotel in the world--a castle parador in Spain, and this apartment with private pool in Mérida, Mexico, last Dec. #GenXTravel

A3. I've stayed in some good ones over the years but there are a few standouts: An ecolodge in Sinai, a sailboat in San Francisco, a cute surfer's hideaway in Baja and a 16th century loft in Paris. Thanks @Airbnb #GenXTravel

replying to @GenXTraveler @GenXTraveler A2. Seems to me the most interesting people are the quirky looking introverts who are off by themselves (just like me). Get 'em talking and they always have incredible stories to tell. #GenXTravel

replying to @RetireGenX @RetireGenX That's probably right. Can you think of anyone in particular? #GenXtravel

replying to @GenXTraveler @GenXTraveler Every trip has been memorable but here's a few pics from my vacation last month. #GenXTravel

Q4: What is the most memorable transportation experience you’ve had? Where was it? Share a photo. #GenXTravel

replying to @GenXTraveler @GenXTraveler @Airbnb Ooh, now I'm curious what they look like inside! #GenXTravel

A3 I think I've mentioned Sierra Llorona in Panama a few too many times, but it was an amazing experience. https://t.co/rdFRFHnUAB #GenXTravel https://t.co/ThThuBGleL

Q4. What is the most memorable transportation experience you’ve had? Where was it? Share a photo. #GenXTravel

A4: Buzzing around tiny back streets in a tuk-tuk in Udaipur, India, and riding a camel in the Thar Desert in Rajasthan, India, are two of my most memorable transportation experiences. #GenXTravel

replying to @VoyagerVicki @VoyagerVicki Most of the people I keep in touch with are from when I stayed in cities for 2-3 months. #GenXTravel

replying to @ChinaMatt @ChinaMatt This is how I feel about my Egypt trip but some trip just stand out more than others. #GenXTravel

replying to @GenXTraveler @GenXTraveler @Airbnb I stayed in a cave hostel when I was there. Would love to go back and stay in one of the awesome cave hotels I've been seeing recently. #GenXTravel

A4 Possibly the miserable bus ride through Sichuan. I did get to pay to pee off a cliff though. https://t.co/dxG3k36Bu1 #GenXTravel https://t.co/YWy91AWjKA

replying to @ChinaMatt @ChinaMatt Did you live in their homes, or just meet people when you were there? I'm curious b/c I have (and may again) stayed in cities for 2-3 months and haven't met anyone I'm still in contact with. #GenXTravel

replying to @GenXTraveler @GenXTraveler I still haven't taken a balloon ride. #GenXTravel

replying to @VoyagerVicki @VoyagerVicki It's apparently popular with nature researchers and photographers. And the food was amazing. #GenXTravel

replying to @GenXTraveler @GenXTraveler A3 Airbnb in the hutongs of Beijing, recently on a junk boat cruise in Vietnam, and an Airbnb in Siem Reap are my favourites. #genxtravel

Q5: What is the most memorable meal/food you’ve had/tried in your travels? Where was it? Share a photo. #GenXTravel

replying to @VoyagerVicki @VoyagerVicki I just met people in the cities. I rented private apartments so I could work during the week. #GenXTravel

replying to @ChinaMatt @ChinaMatt @GenXTraveler I really enjoyed the one I took in NM. Not scary, just very peaceful. #GenXTravel

Q5. What is the most memorable meal/food you’ve had/tried in your travels? Where was it? Share a photo. #GenXTravel

A5: I fell in love with (became a bit addicted to) pasteis de nata (here the famous ones from Belém) in Lisbon. It was my daily treat (and went great with Port wine!) #GenXTravel

replying to @VoyagerVicki @VoyagerVicki @GenXTraveler I wanted to go in Bagan, but then I found out how much it cost. #GenXTravel

A5. I can't come up with one. However, probably because after eating jellyfish here in the States at a Vietnamese wedding everything else seems ho-hum. Sorry, no pics. #GenXTravel

A5: A memorable drink I found and loved in Trinidad, Cuba, was canchánchara--rum, honey, lemon juice, and soda water. #GenXTravel

replying to @ChinaMatt @ChinaMatt Yes, that's what I do. Unfortunately that hasn't left much time for socializing when working 8-hour days (and traveling on the weekends). Still trying to get the digital nomad thing down so that it works well for me. #GenXTravel

A5 I might have to go with fugu sashimi with my coworker in Tokyo. It didn't taste good, but the experience was great (and we didn't die). https://t.co/x4rFVmXPJe #GenXTravel https://t.co/msCAOhZeU8

replying to @VoyagerVicki @VoyagerVicki @Airbnb Here's the hut in Egypt. Looking for some of the others. #GenXTravel

Q6: What is the strangest thing you’ve done in your travels? Where and when was it? #GenXTravel
