replying to @GenxtravelC @GenxtravelC #genxtravel from uk, nottinghamshire. Where last weekend spring arrived. then it got wintry again. I did go for a walk though while it wasn't too cold.

A1. My first flight wasn't until I was about 21 (1986). I flew to Florida to depart for a cruise with my family. That's me playing "Future Cruise Director." #GenXTravel

#genxtravel A1: first flight - late august 1986. had just turned 11. My uncle took me for a week to Denmark. flew BA from Manchester to Copenhagen. Got some coloured pencils and a book from the stewardess.

Here's a shot of our flight home from Disney! Our g-parents surprised us by flying back home w/ us. I was SO happy! #genxtravel

I didn't fly out of the country until 2014 when I was attending a wedding in Germany. We also visited France, Italy, and Austria during that trip. It was incredibly stressful, but I learned a lot about myself and travel by going. #travelfirsts #genxtravel

A2. My first BIG trip abroad was with a friend to backpack Europe for 2 wks in 1996! And thus I was bitten by the travel bug from then on. #genxtravel

Luckily, my first trip abroad was w/ my husband and German friends, our guides to Europe of sorts. They heled us navigate many of our #travelfirsts like getting a sim card and understanding the differences in cultures. A3 #genxtravel

A5. First passport stamp in my first passport: Paris, France #genxtravel
I met up w/ Katie (right) who was already there. We met Suzanne who was traveling alone. I was already meeting new friends immediately. A sign of what was to come!

A6. In my late teens and early 20s, my then boyfriend and I used to take off and go places for the weekend all the time. In my "more adult life" I'm a bit more of a planner. But last week I took off and went to California for the wildflower #superbloom #GenXTravel

My first stamp was France. I hated it at first, specifically Paris, but it didn't take long to grow on me… #genxtravel

replying to @GenxtravelC @GenxtravelC A7: Travelling solo to Naples at 19 was pretty full on. But I get bolshy when I'm scared, so it worked out well ;-) Especially when I accidentally took a pic of a drug deal, and had to hide in a bank for a while LOL #GenXTravel

#genxtravel A7: errrr .... for me, often, the very act of travelling solo in a strange environment is a fear I face, due to introversion, self-confidence, slight anxiety issues ... yadda yadda ...
