Q10: Some cities in Europe are victims of overtourism (Barcelona, Venice, etc). Where do you suggest that people go instead of these popular tourist destinations? #InspireToWander

A10. I'd suggest visiting smaller cities or towns in those countries (Spain, Italy, etc) so that you don't not see a country because 1 or 2 cities in it are suffering from overtourism @inspiretowander #InspireToWander

A10: I suggest picking more rural, smaller towns. This way you'll not only enjoy a more authentic experience within the country but you're supporting a local economy where your tourism dollars can really go far! #InspireToWander

replying to @inspiretowander @inspiretowander A10. I love historical cities like Nuremberg, Germany & Nyon, Switzerland - they’re just as beautiful and have so much to see and do. #InspireToWander

A10 #inspiretowander Lugano, Switzerland. It's on the border with Italy and not far from Turin. I was there on a beautiful June day and this was one of the first places I saw and thought I might want to live here.

replying to @inspiretowander @inspiretowander A10: Instead of going to Lake Como, my husband and I are going to a fishing village on Lake Lugano. Instead of Paris (again), we're going to a small town in Normandy. Smaller towns are often overlooked but worth visiting #InspiretoWander #2019travels

A10. Fly into Barcelona, but head up the coast to Cadaques, Llanca and inland to Girona. Use big cities for easy transport, but get out of dodge! #inspiretowander

replying to @inspiretowander @inspiretowander A10: Check out Poland, Hungary and Portugal. But if you still want to visit popular countries, venture out of the big cities. There’s more to Spain than Barcelona, and there is certainly more to Italy than Florence and Rome. #InspiretoWander

Here’s the lovely Budapest ⤵️

replying to @inspiretowander @inspiretowander A10) I would always recommend people to check out the small areas the towns or heck, even plan a trip focusing on the smaller areas. Madrid has a lot of beautiful villages and historical sites within an hour by train and so does Barcelona. #InspiretoWander

replying to @inspiretowander @inspiretowander A10: If heading to #Paris, I'd recommend to get out and see the smaller towns around the region. Rouen, Saint Germain-en-Laye, and Nimes are pretty close, easily accessible by train or bus and worth the adventure. #InspireToWander

A10 #InspireToWander We love off the beaten path destinations. Our recent month long trip to the UK had us spending a week living in a circa 1650 home in Axbridge, a medieval village in Somerset. So much lovelier than London!
