Rainy Day #Travel
InspireToWander
A10: Travel to those places & use our tourism dollars to support local businesses. That way money is going back into the economy to help rebuild! Volunteering with a reputable company is an option as well! #InspireToWander
A10: This is a great question. Usually places like the Red Cross have already set up aid, so donations of food, clothing, money and time are always appreciated! #InspireToWander
A10: Try not to use up their resources! Don't put any extra strain on emergency services, local infrastructure, food supplies, etc. If there is something you can do to pitch in, don't hesitate to lend a helping hand! And, do not be a demanding tourist! #InspireToWander
A10 #InspireToWander If you cant go anywhere, I’d go out there & volunteer for cleanups or what they need to fix the damage.
replying to @inspiretowander @inspiretowander A10: If you are out, help people if you can do so safely. If you are in, stay in and leave the roads clear for the people trained to handle the situation. #InspireToWander
replying to @inspiretowander @inspiretowander A10: In the most human ways, food, water, trips to hospital, most times hugs are needed most. Earthquake in Mexico, Typhoon in Philippines, civil war in Guatemala. sometimes traveling turns one into a volunteer wanderer. #inspiretowander
replying to @IBBtravel @IBBtravel A10: I haven’t been in that situation, but I imagine lending our time to volunteer if there is a need, but otherwise staying out of the way and not add more problems as a traveler. #InspireToWander
replying to @inspiretowander @inspiretowander A10: I am amazed by how quickly the Red Cross springs into action, while also partnering with the community. If we are there, we must roll up our sleeves & ask the community how we can help. If we arent, we should wait until the community ask for tourism again. #InspireToWander
