replying to @inspiretowander @inspiretowander Q9: we got caught in an arm of a hurricane in #StCroix and our electricity and water was shut off for 24 hours. We took our clothes off and ran in the rain collecting enough rainwater to flush our toilet 😂😂 #InspireToWander

A10: This is a great question. Usually places like the Red Cross have already set up aid, so donations of food, clothing, money and time are always appreciated! #InspireToWander

A10: Try not to use up their resources! Don't put any extra strain on emergency services, local infrastructure, food supplies, etc. If there is something you can do to pitch in, don't hesitate to lend a helping hand! And, do not be a demanding tourist! #InspireToWander

If I unexpectedly need more, I might buy something at a thrift shop and donate it back later. #InspireToWander

I remember arriving at a hotel to find it had no electricity because it had been flooded and all the electrics were out.

I visited the Smokey Mtns shortly after devastating fires in 2016& locals kept stressing their need for tourists to help fund their recovery. #InspireToWander

If we are there, we must roll up our sleeves & ask the community how we can help. If we arent, we should wait until the community ask for tourism again. #InspireToWander
