replying to @OffTrackTravel
@OffTrackTravel @JustinLaurenXO 23 hours and 14 minutes. I also made my friend take a nap in a field for 2 hours He kept stubling in the dark and lost his flashlight. Though he was going to break an ankle.
while sleeping he thought my snoring was an angry bear sneaking up on me #inspiretowander
RT @cleverwomanNY: A5. Our hike in #lampsonfalls in #NEWYORK was over frozen waterfalls. #InspireToWander https://t.co/Egy5nJVnqc

A7: Bring more water and snacks than you think you need. I’ve run out of both too many times. #InspireToWander
A7 #inspiretowander A phone, water, food & change of clothes if you plan to be out there a while. If your climbing something like Mount Hood, a beacon is a good idea.
replying to @inspiretowander @inspiretowander A7) Plenty of water, as lightweight gear as possible and a waterproof jacket/rain poncho. Portable charger for phone is a must too! #InspiretoWander

replying to @inspiretowander @inspiretowander A4: I stayed at a Scout summer camp for two weeks every summer. One time, it rained almost every day. Not just a sprinkle, either; downpours, thunder, lightning, the works. All hikes were canceled, so we set up a tarp and played chess. #InspireToWander
replying to @GPJohnston @GPJohnston @inspiretowander OK, now that’s scary. #InspireToWander

replying to @inspiretowander @inspiretowander A7. Extra socks and sweater because you never know when the weather might change suddenly for the worse. Also a map, because phones die and connection is not guaranteed #inspiretowander
replying to @IBBtravel @IBBtravel that was the first lens I bought and it is magic for me. really good glass at a super cheap price. There are cheaper but the glass isn't as good. Just like the distortions this one made #inspiretowander
replying to @Polymathically @Polymathically @inspiretowander Gotta have a plan B sometimes I suppose! #InspireToWander

@inspiretowander A7: Since we’re day hikers; snacks, water, raincoat, hiking poles & most of all bear spray.
#inspiretowander
replying to @OffTrackTravel @OffTrackTravel I gotta check this out! I haven't done much backcountry exploration but I really wanna change that! #InspireToWander
replying to @inspiretowander @inspiretowander A5: I went to the summit at Haleakala without checking the weather report. That was a mistake I'll never make again. Storms at 10,000+ feet are no bueno. #InspireToWander
replying to @KaraDiDomizio @KaraDiDomizio @inspiretowander Portable charger - that’s a good one! I could definitely have used that on a few hikes. #InspiretoWander

replying to @inspiretowander @inspiretowander A6: Everest. I don't have the training, resources, or money to pull that off. I'm in decent shape, but I'd likely die if I tried it on a whim. #InspireToWander
replying to @inspiretowander @inspiretowander A8: Take it easy, pick an easier hike to get started. Then work your way up to tougher hikes. That way you're not in over your head & you can fully enjoy the adventure! #InspireToWander
replying to @IBBtravel @IBBtravel A8: Bring the 10 Essentials and always follow Leave No Trace Principles whenh iking. Allow others to enjoy the wilderness too! Wildlife and other hikers will thank you #InspireToWander
A8 #inspiretowander What I said before, let someone know where you’re going, start off with short walks & build up. Take a friend along, have that phone & do some research ahead of time.
replying to @Polymathically @Polymathically @inspiretowander Would you go to Base Camp? #InspireToWander
I gotta do more backcountry exploring - this list will be so helpful! #InspireToWander https://t.co/OqAs3AHs6V
replying to @OffTrackTravel @OffTrackTravel @JustinLaurenXO I sat there in my bag with my camp knife ready to stab out at the first attack. Stayed like that for 2 hours till the first bit of light change. Packed up my camp and booted it down the trail #inspiretowander
replying to @IBBtravel @IBBtravel We're doing two on the list this summer! #InspireToWander
A8: You don’t have to be an experienced hiker to get out and explore. Most trail maps list the level of difficulty. And many have light and easy trails - like this one in Howth, Ireland! #InspiretoWander
