Shoes are very important! Spend the money!
Socks are too!
Take a LifeStraw on every hike (just in case)
Take more water than you think you will need.
ENJOY! It will be the best “unplug” time you can find!

1) Start with an easy hike and work your way up.
2) Invest in good hiking boots. Your feet will thank you later.
3) If you’re hiking in bear country, always carry bear spray.
4) Bring water & snacks

A2: The incredibly scenic hike to Ta Phin village of the Red Dao people, near Sapa in Vietnam. The people in the village are very friendly and even through it's often pretty misty, the scenery is beautiful, very etheral. #InspireToWander

I was lucky enough to grow up at the foothills of a mountain, so I got to hike it twice a month. But I did simple walks every night after dinner as well. #InspireToWander

Know what you can do ahead of time, read up on the difficulty of trails, and come prepared for varying weather conditions! #InspiretoWander

A8. In the NY/NJ area, use @nynjtc website to pick an easy trail with cool stuff you want to see. It let's you filter trails based on length, etc. That's how we found so many like #wawayandastatepark in #NewJersey #InspireToWander
