While some other countries in Central America get more attention, so many places I visited in Guatemala had very few people. Outside of Antigua and Guate City, head to the north and visit adorable towns and amazing Mayan ruins. #InspireToWander

replying to @inspiretowander @inspiretowander A5: I really dislike crowds anyway, so I avoid the popular destinations whenever possible. A little research goes a long way. For every popular charming European town, there will be 5 others like it. Go there instead! :) #inspiretowander

A5: Here's the thing that gets me about recommending "other places" to lessen overtourism. eventually the lesser-known places will be overcrowded because we keep recommending them! #inspiretowander

A5: We recently traveled to Ravello, Italy. Most travelers of the Amalfi Coast stay in Amalfi or Positano. Ravello is fairly popular as a day trip but not nearly as crowded as the other two towns. Here we had the whole town square to ourselves! #InspireToWander
