Q9: What mistakes have you made that have ended up costing you big, and what would you do differently in the future? #InspireToWander
A9: I work for an airline and we fly standby. Stupidly, we booked an Airbnb for Christmas when we knew it was unlikely we'd get there. We ended up paying for 3 Airbnbs when it was all done and only stayed in 1! #InspireToWander
A9: Oh so many. Twitter doesn't allow enough characters! But, we always learn from those past mistakes! #inspiretowander
replying to @JustinLaurenXO @JustinLaurenXO A9 meet some people by the pool and booked an excursion for the next day and 2/4 showed up. We got stuck paying for the difference #InspiretoWander
replying to @JustinLaurenXO @JustinLaurenXO A9. Buying plane tickets at last minute. I always do that and I ended up paying a lot for flies that are not that expensive. #InspireToWander
replying to @JustinLaurenXO @JustinLaurenXO A9: I still consider Aruba to be my biggest regret. My family and I went there because we traded in a timeshare, but the hotel was under construction, and the island was tiny and had few activities. Aruba should've been a single stop on a multi-island tour. #InspireToWander
A9: My biggest travel fail is reading military time incorrectly and booking two non-refundable train tickets from Rome to Naples .... with a departure 2 hours before we were scheduled to land in Rome. I had to book two new train tickets at a not-so-cheap price🤦🏼‍♀️ #inspiretowander
A9: Don’t wait too long, especially for holiday travel. Good deals will go away and you can end up paying more than expected. #InspireToWander
A9 #InspireToWander At Singapore's airport, I booked a hotel room in their hotel not realizing it was a transit hotel behind security and I wouldn't be able to access it. I had to use the Crowne Plaza which was nice, but need to make sure you can get to the place before booking
replying to @Polymathically @JustinLaurenXO A9: Also, Aruba was a stone's throw away from Venezuela. Seriously, we could've done at least a day's excursion. This was years before it was dragged down into economic and political oblivion. Now I don't think I'll ever set foot there in my lifetime. #InspireToWander
replying to @inspiretowander @inspiretowander A9: In 2003 I lost my passport when I traveled to Germany—dropped it between showing it to get on the plane and sitting in my seat. I had to pay about $60 to get a piece of paper allowing me to leave the airport and $70 or so to get a temp passport to get home. #InspireToWander
A9- Missed my flight to San Sebastian because I went to the wrong airport. That was a brutal lesson that Ryanair will list airports by cities that they are nowhere close to #InspireToWander #travelingsession
