It's #InspireToWander time! YAY! So excited to be talking all about day trips - one of my favourite ways to travel! Before we begin, where are you joining us from tonight?
Hi everyone! Tweeting from Kitchener where I'm at @Communitech for a @SandalsResorts event with @visiontraveller! #InspireToWander
A1- I've taken a liking to Biloxi, Mississipi lately #InspireToWander #travelingsession
replying to @SterlingTravelr @SterlingTravelr @inspiretowander Along the coast? My husband and I just got back from exploring SoCal. We drove on the coast between Malibu and Laguna, then went out to Palm Springs, the Salton Sea, the Angeles Crest Mountains, and to LA. There is so much to see and do in southern California! #InspireToWander
No current day trips planned, but I always love going to the beach! Being 4 hours away, it is almost too far to be considered a "day trip"… #inspiretowander
A1- For day trips, I like to keep it under 2 hours away. Any further then that and I'm staying the night #InspireToWander #travelingsession
A3: I'd have to say my car, mainly because I often have spur-of-the-moment day trips! Plus taking my car allows me to not depend on a schedule & I can go wherever I want like how I met up with @WAISItravelblog this Sunday to hike Mono Cliffs PP! @ontarioparks #InspireToWander
A3- I prefer trains. All of the convenience of not driving and none of the headaches of flying. But, if by boat is an option, that's a different story #InspireToWander #travelingsession
Day trips are usually done with a car. Can't imagine being able to rely on public transportation to get me anywhere quickly. Jealous of those who can do that though! #inspiretowander
replying to @inspiretowander @inspiretowander A1 does Albanian riviera in September count as summer? #InspireToWander 😍🌞
The furthest I've traveled for a day trip would be Charleston, SC, about a 7-hour drive. I think too much further and you have to make it a weekend trip. What's the point of going if you just have to turn around and come right back? #inspiretowander
A4: 95% of the time it's for a hike! I just love hitting the open road to then tackle an awesome trail. We're lucky to have so many good ones here in Ontario! #InspireToWander @ontarioparks @HikeOntario
A4 - Honestly, my main activity is just wandering around the city! I’m in Taipei now - it’s BOILING but I’m still meandering around! #inspiretowander
replying to @JustinLaurenXO @JustinLaurenXO A3: I definitely prefer driving so I'm in control of my schedule and can make any adjustments on the go #InspireToWander
A5: I don't have kids but my mom & I have plenty of awesome adventures! They usually entail good coffee, great eats & a little shopping! The odd leisurely stroll is thrown in there too - especially if we're hunting lighthouses or check out waterfalls! #inspiretowander
For a family-friendly day trip, I would pick a road with lots of stops along the way. The busier you can keep the kids the less you have to deal with "Are we there yet?" lol.
For Atlantans, Chattanooga is a pretty great family-friendly day trip. #inspiretowander
