replying to @AvrexTravel @AvrexTravel @AngelaMDiLoreto @inspiretowander I really need to explore more of the Western USA. Ghost towns & hot springs sound like the perfect combo to me! #InspireToWander

replying to @JustinLaurenXO @JustinLaurenXO I'm not sure it was off the beaten path, but Game of Thrones definitely caused a spike in tourism to Dubrovnik. #InspireToWander

#InspireToWander A 4) A short train ride from Philadelphia is Haddonfield, NJ. It's a charming little town full of history. It's also the place where a dinosaur was discovered in the United States.

replying to @inspiretowander @inspiretowander A5: #inspiretowander yes the entire country of Portugal. Having grown up there, and having Americans ask me if it's a city in Spain ten years ago, to watching every Instagram star head to Lisbon nowadays is a little surreal.

A5 #InspireToWander The 1 place I could think of & I think it has more to do with @RickSteves making it famous is Cinque Terre in Italy.

replying to @JustinLaurenXO @JustinLaurenXO A5. Forks, Washington. Maybe not necessarily because of the internet but because of Twilight that used to be near one of our favorite camping sites and we had to avoid it for a few years because it was overrun with teenage girls lol #InspireToWander

replying to @aok_NW @aok_NW @RickSteves Yes! And then there is Portovenere right next door that's definitely not as busy and equally as charming! #InspireToWander

replying to @JustinLaurenXO @JustinLaurenXO Love the Bruce trail! Have you walked the whole way? It's beautiful down there but you need good hiking shoes and it's safest to walk the long way rather then attempt to go down the gorge at the main waterfall 😁 #inspiretowander

replying to @BudgetBreakBlog @BudgetBreakBlog @JustinLaurenXO Amazing! DeCew Falls definitely is a beauty! I grew up in St Catharines but only visited it once I returned home after graduating university. Never swam there but made it down in the spring thaw. Gorgeous! #InspireToWander

replying to @inspiretowander @inspiretowander A5. Some people say Iceland (which I've never been to) has become too mainstream. But, based on the photos I've seen, Iceland is a place I desperately want to go. I'm sure there's still lots of off the beaten path places still to visit. #InspireToWander

replying to @BudgetBreakBlog @BudgetBreakBlog I'm slowly hiking the whole thing. Except I haven't hiked it at all this year. I was away too much and then when I got back, it was far too hot. Hoping to do some fall hiking on ol' Brucey though! #InspireToWander

A5- Boracay in the Philippians is starting to feel the pain of too many visitors. The island recently had to shutdown to deal with the trash. Although I also heard it was partly their own fault #InspireToWander #travelingsession

A5. Montauk was off the beaten path when I was growing up but thanks to the popularity of the internet and the Hamptons, it is now pretty mainstream. Once upon a time, it was a quiet little town. #InspireToWander

A4. The best off-the-beaten-path place in my region would probably be Queretaro. Most people fly in, but skip it to get to San Miguel de Allende. Or it could be the Sierra GOrda mountains with its waterfalls and pueblos magicos. It takes 3 hours to get there. #inspiretowander

replying to @Travel_Session @Travel_Session Yes, you're right! An island in Thailand closed because of the impact too. Boracay is open again but apparently it's a bit different - a lot less partying & what not. Hopefully it doesn't have to be closed again! #InspireToWander

replying to @inspiretowander @inspiretowander A6: #inspiretowander what I personally do is encourage slow travel. So instead of telling someone to stay one night and take their Insta photo I tell them to stay three nights and tell them about other sights nearby so that they can branch out and see more than just one photo op.

A6 #inspiretowander I’m not sure you can. Plitvice Lakes National Park in Croatia was over trodden & worn out by the end of the 80s. The wars started & people stopped going which was a great thing for the park. It was able to grow & renew itself
