replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie Hi, Kate. I just came up cold on a dark Google search, but I'm trying ... very trying. #PTTravel

A1 For a fleeting moment -- an hour or so -- we were on the ground in Alaska at a town about six miles north of the Arctic Circle in October 1985. I've since forgotten the name, and I just spent 15 minutes on Google trying to find it. I failed. Anyway, I was there. #PTTravel

replying to @JKatzaman @JKatzaman What was it like? Light/dark? Cold I'm guessing. It is amazing that there are towns up so far north #PTTravel

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie Way farther north are the oil fields on Alaska's north slope, which is where Barrows is. That town should thrive until the last drop. Then back to the calibu. Anyway, never been there. #PTtravel

A3 For some reason my night photos were underexposed. #PTTravel

replying to @JKatzaman @JKatzaman That can be a problem. I think I'd like to do some night photography practice #PTTravel

A4 I want to go to Devil's Tower at night to see the close encounters with aliens. #PTTravel

A5 I usually have humble needs, but I at least want a futon or legitimate bed rather than be on the hard ground in a tent. Been there done that. #PTTravel

A6 For impromptu sightseeing, travel by day is better. Red-eye flights are OK, but drawbacks are that regardless of time of day you can't stretch your legs, and I don't do well sleeping while sitting up. #PTTravel
