replying to @aok_NW @aok_NW @findinganeish @kate_frankie Climbing towers is hard work but definitely worth it. I thought I wasn’t going to make it all the way up the York Minster but I’m so glad I kept on. #PTTravel

replying to @NomadKeith @NomadKeith I get a good core work out from just moving around the ship, and lots of strength work too. There's a reason we call it "sweating" a rope too. #pttravel

I'm realising how bad my fitness has been on trips in the past couple of years. I last hiked overseas 2 or 3 years ago. I haven't done an outdoor run for ages and prpmised myself I'd do yoga in India but didn't have time

I'd love to do more tai chi maybe in China or other countries in Asia.
Maybe a dance class?

replying to @DawnCorleone @DawnCorleone @aok_NW @kate_frankie I'm usually fine but I had the beginnings of a panic attack up Basel Minster this year -- it was unbelievably narrow near the top. Made it eventually though. #PTTravel

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie I'm getting ready for doing the mountain leader training course, and I've been sailing so much that coming up from a pontoon at low tide feels like a challenge sometimes. Sailors are rubbish at hills. #pttravel

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie #pttravel We were at the Wild Goose Pagoda in Xi'an when a group of ladies doing tai-chi invited us to join them. I've been looking for a class locally ever since.

replying to @findinganeish @findinganeish @aok_NW @kate_frankie I sympathize. I get panicky on those narrow twisting stairs, especially when I can’t see daylight (and people are clamoring up behind me so I can’t really stop). #pttravel

A3 #pttravel I thought I had some photos of the tai-chi class, but I couldn't find them. But, how about the 'jungle gyms' (trimmbahn) that you often find in Germany and Austria. It was such a surprise coming on one for the first time.

A4 #pttravel #travel has a very positive effect on my mental health. Just being there has brought me out of more than one valley. I think it helps a lot.

The positive impact for me is why I travel for leisure.
Business travel has been hectic and tiring the past few months. I need to remember to build in rest and to not cram too many cities into a trip

NomadKeith

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie #pttravel It's very basic gym equipment, made out of local timber, which you come across from time to time on a woodland walk. There's sometimes a pictogram telling you what to do. Look for signs to 'Trimmbahn' or 'Trim-dich-fit'.

A4. It's about knowing yourself, and what works when. I need to be able to find my own space and get out in a wild place sometimes, but other times need to socialise and be around people #pttravel
