replying to @findinganeish @findinganeish @kate_frankie I get the same reaction from work colleagues. “You’re always gone!” No, not really! Four weeks a year. #PTTravel

I'm blinded stumbling around and just want coffee and some pastries from Byen's Bakeri. #Seattle #USA #pttravel
replying to @aok_NW @aok_NW That's a really interesting schedule. So are they weeks you can travel? Or do you need to stay local for some of that time? #PTtravel
replying to @HHLifestyleTrav @HHLifestyleTrav @StromfieldAdvs @kate_frankie That's going to be an EPIC trip, Hannah 🎉 Can't wait to follow along 👍 #pttravel
replying to @annika_ed @annika_ed That is a VERY generous leave allowance! Where in the world are you based? #PTtravel
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A3: When I used to have a 'real' job, I used to add annual leave days to weekends and do long weekends around Europe. I also chose a 9-day fortnight working pattern, so had every second Friday off - free long weekends! #PTTravel
replying to @DawnCorleone @DawnCorleone @findinganeish @kate_frankie Lol! It's amazing what a little forward thinking and planning can do with 4 weeks 😁 #PTTravel
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A2 #PTTravel Self-employed, but try to do max 30-40days off, setting aside most of this for trips
A3 #PTTravel Flights and accommodation get much more expensive during the public and school holidays so tend to avoid those days.
replying to @solosoulblogger @solosoulblogger Its pros and cons either way. I used to envy the part-time workers I was friends with when they had time to work on projects they wanted to or just not put the alarm on some days. The flip side was less money & so not many trips actually #PTTravel
A3 at my last job I tried to take holiday combined with red days to get as much holiday as possible but at this job it’s much harder to do that. So can mostly have holiday during the summer. Not used to that. I like to travel in spring and autumn. #pttravel

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A3 I usually take my long holidays in September as we have 3 days off 😍 but this year I also want to travel some long weekends #PTTravel

A3 #PTtravel in my 5 wk schedule, there’s a two week period where you’re scheduled to work 32 hrs. The rest of the time is unpaid. I requested the 32 hrs vacation resulting in 2 weeks off. It’s a very efficient way to use my vacation hours.
#pttravel A3 I don't think we do, just take advantage of all holidays and use weekends - there's a whole load of destinations that you can get to on a Friday night and back on a Sunday evening!
RT @findinganeish: @kate_frankie A2. I think it works out at about four weeks off a year, but if I play my shifts right I can usually stret…
replying to @StromfieldAdvs @StromfieldAdvs Thanks! I’m reading your blog post now. Those beaches look stunning! And those birds, wow. #PTTravel
replying to @StromfieldAdvs @StromfieldAdvs THIRTEEN WEEKS?! That is an enormous amount of leave! #PTtravel
replying to @DawnCorleone @DawnCorleone @kate_frankie I know, it’s weird. Maybe we just do more on our days off. #PTTravel

replying to @RoamingRequired @RoamingRequired Sweden. 25 days is normal here and then you get more depending on your age. #pttravel
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A2 15 working days paid 😔 it's not much but I make them count 😁 #PTTravel
replying to @dipyourtoesin @dipyourtoesin @findinganeish @kate_frankie Exactly! 😃 #PTTravel
replying to @RoamingRequired @RoamingRequired No, if they give me the vacation, that two weeks is all mine. In fact, they have a policy of not calling while you are on vacation. #PTTravel
So many interesting things to when you travel to Santiago de Cuba and Cienfuegos in Cuba. https://t.co/EpG7IiPDfo #PTTravel
replying to @kate_frankie
@kate_frankie A3. When I request days off I put in for MWF off to stretch my vacation because they can’t assign me a work trip for one day so it gives me two weeks off only using 6 paid vacation days, weekends and taking 4 unpaid vacation days.
#PTTravel
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie @solosoulblogger Yes, the amount we travel wouldn't be possible without the money Jim and I currently earn - the holidays can be quite hard when you start teaching - loads of time to go away but no money! #pttravel

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie #PTTravel Very true! But it's funny how one learns to find those 5 euros bus tickets to another towns etc.
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie @russellofearth @NomadKeith @ManvsGlobe @heywhatsupcourt @findinganeish @CharlesMcCool @RoamingRequired @Txiki_Tales @HHLifestyleTrav @DawnCorleone Joining you with a random emu from #Ljubljana #Slovenia. #PTTravel
replying to @despiertaviaja_ @despiertaviaja_ Say hi to Chile for us. I really enjoyed my trip there. A mere 12 years ago 😮 #PTTravel
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A3 #PTTravel We usually prefer to do sth local like staycation or weekend/day trip to Cotswolds on bank holidays as too crowded at airports
replying to @RoamingRequired @RoamingRequired 😁😁Yeah, teaching is a good option if you love travelling - we get less in the UK than a lot of countries! You do need some to recuporate but we normally just plan that in the first couple of days of a trip😀 #pttravel
replying to @StromfieldAdvs @StromfieldAdvs Living near a good airport is such a big deal. If only London want so expensive for a singleton! #PTTravel
A3 #pttravel One place I worked had an excellent system; for every day you worked over a holiday, you got 3 days off in lieu. One year, I signed off on January 3rd and disappeared for the rest of the month.
A3. Make the most by adding on to weekends and bank holidays. @RoamingRequired absolutely nails the annual leave planning part. I'm just lucky she's my better half 💕 #pttravel https://t.co/IISa5YY4WA
replying to @kate_frankie
@kate_frankie A3: Mostly by stuffing weekends with extra days on either side, choosing to travel off peak and leveraging bank holidays. "MAGIC!" 😊
#PTTRAVEL
A3 It's best to fit trips into two-week chunks. At least, that's the max I can get away with. That really separates business from pleasure. #PTTravel
replying to @NomadKeith @NomadKeith I work around people with kids because I prefer to miss school holiday time. Too crowded and expensive #PTTravel
replying to @Morology @Morology @kate_frankie @NomadKeith @ManvsGlobe @heywhatsupcourt @findinganeish @CharlesMcCool @RoamingRequired @Txiki_Tales @HHLifestyleTrav @DawnCorleone LMAO! That made me laugh out loud 🤣 #pttravel
RT @kate_frankie: @StromfieldAdvs Living near a good airport is such a big deal. If only London want so expensive for a singleton! #PTTravel
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A3. By not relying on my annual leave or national travels. I try to see or do something new every week with one of my days off, even taking the odd extra day off unpaid to fit it all in. #PTTravel
replying to @HHLifestyleTrav @HHLifestyleTrav @kate_frankie @StromfieldAdvs I can’t wait for your pics! I’ve always wanted to see more of the deep South. Sadly, I think I take it for granted being in my own country. #PTTravel
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie @StromfieldAdvs @flypdx use to be that way, but now they offer 4 flights to Europe, the fare last have come down a lot. #PTtravel
