replying to @DawnCorleone @DawnCorleone @kate_frankie @StromfieldAdvs Oh I get that - there are parts of Scotland I never saw, even after 15 years living there! Doh! #PTTravel
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie @StromfieldAdvs yeh, I mean I live *near* East Midlands Airport but it's not the best airport for someone like me to use. #PTTRavel
RT @kate_frankie: @NomadKeith I work around people with kids because I prefer to miss school holiday time. Too crowded and expensive #PTTraā¦
RT @dipyourtoesin: @kate_frankie A3: Mostly by stuffing weekends with extra days on either side, choosing to travel off peak and leveragingā¦
A3 #PTTravel I get to some interesting places for work. So I always try to plan some personal days while I am there.
replying to @aok_NW @aok_NW @RoamingRequired Nice. That's an excellent policy to have š #pttravel
A3: I maximise my annual leave by combining weekends, public holidays where possible. On top of that, I book most of my years leave in January and then shuffle it as I need to. #PTtravel
#pttravel A4: I take the view that wherever I go, it's cheaper for me to travel than stay at home. For ... several reasons. So no, I never budget. I ought to start, But the idea depresses me. #HeadInTheSand
replying to @aok_NW @aok_NW That's a mighty good policy. Vacation is Vacation #PTtravel
#PTTravel
A3 I like to use the bank holidays to use one annual leave day to have a full long weekend away.
There's usually an article floating around which tells you the minimum days you need to put in to give yourself maximum time off. I'm search for it.
replying to @StromfieldAdvs @StromfieldAdvs Ah teaching. Vacation allowance aside, it's not a job for me, but that 13 weeks is very tempting! #PTtravel
A4 I try to go outside of the big holidays and I look for good prices when I travel and sometimes decide the destination after good prices. I donāt spend so much even if I travel a lot, but save some every month.#pttravel

@kate_frankie A4. I have a savings app that puts aside money for me every paycheck so I donāt have to do it & canāt see it! So when I go on my trip I only use what Iāve saved so I donāt go into debt for traveling. I used to just wing it but ended up being in debt over it.
#PTTravel
A4 #PTtravel wing it within reason. I try to be frugal with airfare & hotels. I try to study the local transit systems before I use them to see the best way to go.
A4 #pttravel Always on the look-out for bargains and deals ... we do set a limit of spending, but don't obsess too much if we go over budget.
A4 #PTTravel I start with the things I want to see and do then work out how to get there and then budget
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A4: I am an uber-planner. I have a huge spreadsheet for tabs for travel savings, travel planning, hopeful itineraries, and formulas that pull real time budget data to savings fund to pay for it all ;-) Oh, and I usually do projected budgets 5 years out ;-) #PTTravel

replying to @RTWBarefoot @RTWBarefoot @kate_frankie #pttravel yeah, it's like the second runway debate, we quietly would quite like it to be at Gatwick - we can only see the planes and hear them occasionally though.
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie #PTTravel A 4 Always on a shoestring budget. Hostels and local groceries instead of fine dining restaurants. But hey, happy with it!
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A4 #PTTravel We usually have a pretty good idea about how much weāre likely to spend and usually end up on budget so to say.
A4. After travelling together for awhile, we tend to know how much we'll need for a short break. Still a big believer in building a dedicated travel fund thoughš #pttravel https://t.co/Dk2bjVaGmB

A4: I'm a firm believer in a Wanderlust account. Throw whatever money you can into it every time you get paid, I aim for 10% of my take home pay. Then when an error fare or a lightning deal pops up I have no financial issues in saying yes

A4 It's best to have a basic ideas of how much it costs to get from here to there and back, including lodging. Beyond that, try to have a slush fund to give you the luxury of side trips and perhaps even eating. #PTTravel
