A2 I travelled a few times with atrial fibrilation - even when it got quite bad. I did have a specific policy at the time tho. Worst injury I've had travelling is a few cracked ribs...from trying to break a record on a bloody waterslide #pttravel

A2 cont. Fortunately the giardia I contracted in Cuba was right at the end of the trip. I did lose a stone and a half in weight in the few days after arriving home. Could do with a bit of that now. #pttravel

A2. Got food poisoning (?) or allergic reaction (?) on Christmas Eve night in Lalibela Ethiopia. Kind hotel owner had to call a doctor out to see me, then the dr called an ambulance. At hospital, was given a shot. Total cost: $35. Felt fine the next day. #PTTravel

A2 I've had an ear infection and couldn't get anti-biotics which I needed. That was painful.
Other than that just sickness, diahorrea or cold. It makes you feel miserable though

A2. I injured my arm on a sailing trip and had a visit to Faroese A&E. As I was working on the ship, I was covered under their insurance but EHIC meant it was all free to access, and charges were minimal. #PTTravel

A2 Worst was a BAD reaction to a high-end eye makeup remover in Germany. Misdiagnosed by local doctor, ended up in the Eye Emergency Room several times when back home, culminating in eyelid surgery. Suspect things would not have escalated with correct first diagosnis. #PTTravel

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A2 I had altitude sickness in Peru and was hospitalised in Cusco. They wouldn’t do a thing til I could prove I could pay/ had insurance (which I had!) - despite being pretty ill when admitted. Always make sure you have good insurance! #PTTravel
