#PTTravel A2 - ooh, I did have norovirus once - that wasn't fun! https://t.co/Ddclc81nRi
A4 - A very mini first aid kit with just my personal essentials. Alcohol wipes, bandaids, moleskin, hydro-cortisone cream, antibiotic ointment and Plan B. If I need something else I buy it locally (it's usually cheaper abroad). #PTTravel
A4 I don't carry a first-aid kit, but perhaps should. I haven't taken a big trip in a while. When the next time comes, that might be a consideration. #PTTravel
replying to @GFreeHorizons @GFreeHorizons Ooh that's never fun for anyone! #PTTravel
A4. I’m currently on a year-long trip and I have a very basic first aid kit in my backpack. I had first aid training maybe 20 years ago and a couple of quick refreshers via my previous employer over the past few years. #pttravel
replying to @vickyinglis13 @vickyinglis13 @Txiki_Tales I agree! I've heard a lot of people re-mortgaging houses to pay for cancer treatment. Horrific! #PTTravel
replying to @Txiki_Tales @Txiki_Tales @findinganeish @kate_frankie And that is why you have nurses to double check what the docs are doi g and correct them when needed 😉 #PTTravel
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie @findinganeish No, it was when my AF got really bad. I was prescribed a med that made me worse. When I was admitted, the doctor didn't look at my test results and was going to DOUBLE the dose. When I made reference to the tests, the med was replaced with something else. #pttravel
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie @vickyinglis13 @Txiki_Tales It is really common, makes you appreciate the NHS so much more #PTTravel
replying to @TravelFearless A4 P2 - Also, after THE EYE INCIDENT, I now carry Polysporin Antibiotic Eye Drops! In many places they won't prescribe antibiotics for an eye infection, but after THE EYE INCIDENT I was advised to trust my gut and begin treatment as soon as possible if it happens again. #PTTravel
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie I saw something recently that it disappears completely from the Brexit date. Nothing has been negotiated to step into its place or ensure continuation #pttravel
A4 I'm a qualified emergency nurse, I always carry one with me and this is my first aid kit checklist #PTTravel https://t.co/S9VPqFFh5h
replying to @kate_frankie @Txiki_Tales @findinganeish Oh God! That's the stuff I worry about. Also going in for surgery and having an arm or leg amputated accidentally #PTTravel
replying to @TravelFearless @TravelFearless That's pretty much all you need, unless you are trained if you need anything more you will likely need medical help anyway #PTTravel

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A4. I do when out hiking but I don’t tend to take a First Aid Kit is on city breaks. At most I’m likely to pack a couple of paracetamols and some savlon. #PTTravel
A5. I have first aid training especially for work outdoors. I'll always carry a simple first aid kit with me, and a bit more stuff for travelling with #PTTravel

replying to @bemusedbackpack @bemusedbackpack I would like a good star for having all of the things on your list in my first aid kit! #PTTravel
replying to @TravelFearless @TravelFearless Moleskin is the BEST. I have a special blister kit for hiking and trail running that I stick in my first aid kit #pttravel
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A2 I had altitude sickness in Peru and was hospitalised in Cusco. They wouldn’t do a thing til I could prove I could pay/ had insurance (which I had!) - despite being pretty ill when admitted. Always make sure you have good insurance! #PTTravel

A5. We don’t check for medical info/locations in every city we visit- but maybe 50%? Quite often one of us will note-“oh there’s a hospital/pharmacy/doctor” nearby and we figure we can call hotel front desk to get help if needed if we feel unwell. #pttravel

A5 Close to our regular haunt in Northern France is the regional hospital. Unfortunately it looks like something straight out of a horror film. We always tell Tom he can't be ill or he will end up there. Funny how quickly he feels better #pttravel
A5 It's good to know if where you plan to travel is within your healthcare network. Have a few dollars saved in case you stray and hit big bills. #PTTravel

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A5. Aside from booking insurance I don’t tend to think about medical facilities until I need them. Spent ages searching every Carrefour and Monoprix in Nice for some Vaseline one winter. #PTTravel

replying to @WriteInMidLife @WriteInMidLife Haha, condoms are a lifesaver on many levels, did you know they can be put insude a sock and used as an emergency water carrier? Or that sanitary towels are perfect emergency wound dressings? #PTTravel #lifehacks #BearGryllsMyArse
replying to @WriteInMidLife @WriteInMidLife Similar thing happened to a woman on my Inca trail trip. She had a blood clot on her lung in the end and had to be flown back to Canada. I remember her telling me at around 3am to travel as much as I could while I'm fit. I took the advice! #PTTravel
A6 If you become ill when traveling, don't settle for healthcare on the cheap. You get what you pay for, and you might regret taking that shortcut for years to come. #PTTravel
A6 Being prepared is the best defence, but failing that ... https://t.co/8DZF9ZhK2l #PTTravel
A6 If you're travelling to France with a small child, make sure you take plenty of Calpol/painkillers/cold remedies...as the French pharmacies seem to have a penchant for prescribing suppositories 😬 #pttravel
A6. Keep hydrated, find a pharmacy and try to get some pedialyte or Gatorade. Ask a travel partner or someone at the hostel to ask the front desk for some help if you’re not feeling up to getting it yourself. #PTTravel
