A1 We have done day trips to London quite a few times - our last one though was last summer where we went to the Sony photography awards at Somerset house and then the Imperial war museum! #pttravel
replying to @TIBTraveller @TIBTraveller @kate_frankie I would love to see Heidelberg! #PTTravel
replying to @vickyinglis13 @vickyinglis13 Is it likely to be a bad storm? I haven't watched the weather for days #PTTravel
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie It's been so long since I've done a day trip. Think it was Manchester just before Christmas, to meet up with some friends. Very blustery day! #PTTravel
A1 We went out to Rookery Hall last weekend but took a windy route so we could see the pretty villages in Cheshire #PTTravel
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie @vickyinglis13 it's very windy now in Cinderford #pttravel
replying to @findinganeish @findinganeish @kate_frankie Excellent news - I am glad you are feeling better 😀 Where are you off to? #pttravel
replying to @KrystleRSky @KrystleRSky they're pretty common actually. always nice. #pttravel
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie #pttravel I’m in the beautiful Newcastle-upon-Tyne 😄
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A1. I went down to Argyll a couple of weeks ago, to see Kilchurn Castle and St Conan’s Kirk. #PTTravel
A1. I took myself out for a trail running day trip to Ashridge Estate in the Chilterns during the snow last month. But with moving house, my only other excursion has been to IKEA in Milton Keynes #pttravel
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie @vickyinglis13 #pttravel It's blowing a hooligan here ... but I haven't seen any LarchLap fences flying south for the winter .... yet!
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A1 #pttravel last weekend was in Copenhagen, day trip wise I’m struggling to remember! Probably Durham in September it’s been that long 🙈
replying to @StromfieldAdvs @StromfieldAdvs @kate_frankie Zurich, which will be a breath of very fresh air. Thank you very much ☺️ #PTTravel
replying to @TIBTraveller @TIBTraveller @kate_frankie We are from the UK and we went to Berlin last Feb and we were in Munich for Neuschwanstein a just over a week ago! Bavaria rocks! We've just moved Hamburg higher up the list 😀😀 #pttravel
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie Q1 #Lincoln never fails to please on the day trip front #PTTravel
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie Not too bad here, worse on the coast. But it's exciting to watch the wind in tall trees🌲 #pttravel

replying to @findinganeish @findinganeish @kate_frankie Ooh, pretty! We will need to see mountain photos! #pttravel
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A rather rainy Ireland, though the village across from us has snow! #PTTravel
replying to @global_gadabout @global_gadabout @kate_frankie Lincoln certainly is pretty - just an hour away for us #pttravel
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie Last trip was to @HighlandSafaris read about it here. #pttravel https://t.co/rgp4eTLaoB

Technically, I do day trips to Durham and Newcastle-Upon-Tyne all of the time. It doesn't count because they are the closest cities and I work in one.
It's so easy to do UK day trips. Newcastle airport has early morning flights to places like London too
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A2 We leave for a trip between 5 and 7 am to get the most out of the day. Depending on the activities, we will leave around 5pm for home and eat food we packed on the drive/train. We decide what we'll do ahead of time and bring enough $ for entrance fees + a coffee. #PTTravel
replying to @bigfatheadz @bigfatheadz The villages in Cheshire are really pretty! #pttravel
A2 #pttravel Depends how far away it is & how I'm going. If I'm using a bus, I need to leave after 9.30, because my bus pass isn't valid till then.
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A1: Hullo. I managed a solo day trip to #Newquay's #FistralBeach on the last day of half-term. #nofilter #travel #PTTravel
replying to @TIBTraveller @TIBTraveller @kate_frankie We loved the mountains! Munich not as much as Fussen though! Are the people in the South more stressy then do you think? #pttravel
A2 I try to get where I'm going by lunchtime. If I need a ticket I'll try to book in advance esp. as that will then ensure I go. I usually budget to have lunch out or at least coffee & cake #pttravel
A2. It depends on distance and what I want to do. I might set out really early if I want to get a hike in, otherwise I'd wait a while to miss peak travel times #pttravel
replying to @StromfieldAdvs @StromfieldAdvs @kate_frankie I love London, you could go on 100 say trips and there would still be more things to see. The Imperial War Museum is such a cool place #PTTravel
replying to @Txiki_Tales @Txiki_Tales @kate_frankie Great snap! Plus good excuse to stop for a breather on Steep Hill! 💗 Lincoln #PTTravel
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie #pttravel I used to do day trips to London for the World Travel Market, because the price for overnight accommodation was horrendous.
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A2 It varies completely. We're right by the M62 and can be in Whitby, Liverpool, Lakes or Peaks in less than a couple of hours. We like to spend a good few hours out and spends can be anything - sometimes we'll take a picnic, other times we'll eat out. #pttravel
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie We went to the Gap of Dunloe and it was stunning 😍#PTTravel
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie #PTTravel Q2: It depends on the destination. If I go on a day trip around home there is not much budget involved. A day trip while travelling, I set budget according my desire to do it 😂 Best daytrip ever was a glacier hike in Patagonia https://t.co/wYe77vgv7x
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A1: London, which is a pretty easy day trip from us in Milton Keynes. We went to the theatre, the Dior exhibition and stuffed our faces 😁 #pttravel
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A2 We get organised the night before and get up and out as early as we can. Need to max out the day, especially with scenery like this is on your doorstep #pttravel #glencoe
replying to @StromfieldAdvs @StromfieldAdvs I'll allow more time next time to be able to stop and mooch #PTTravel
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A2. I’ll usually dedicate a full day, rising as early as six and getting home as late as public transport will allow. As for budget, it can be anywhere from £40 to £100; it’s usually at the lower end if I’m travelling alone. #PTTravel
replying to @BudgetBreakBlog @BudgetBreakBlog @kate_frankie Yes you really can! this is about our 3rd London day break - we have decided to stretch them out slightly to one night stay trips this year so we can go further afield as well #pttravel
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A2: I find day trips always tend to run quite long. We're usually out of the house by 8am and rarely back before midnight! There's always so much to pack into a day #pttravel
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A2: More often then not I tend to set off in the mornings. Getting home is iffy, lets say after dark. I check later that week exactly how much money I spent that day. #pttravel
replying to @StromfieldAdvs @StromfieldAdvs @kate_frankie The kirk’s absolutely incredible. Even more impressive than the castle, if you ask me. #PTTravel
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A1: Last day trip was from #Bristol to #London about two weeks ago! Such an easy, affordable bus 🚌#PTTravel
