replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A2) Depending on location usually set off at 6-8am and set off back between 6-10pm (depending on where we go) and probably around £50 if it's a day trip #PTTravel

The most annoying thing about trains to London is the last leaves too early to go to an evening show #PTTravel

A2 I set off early. Very early like 5am. I get back quite late, sometimes 10-11pm. Make the most of time I have. I spend as little as possible, mostly transport

replying to @StromfieldAdvs @StromfieldAdvs London is so close and I really don't take advantage of that enough. I love Oxford from living there a few years ago and still visit regularly. And I go to Portsmouth and Southampton often. But somehow it seems like a big deal to go to London for a day #pttravel

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A2: I drove spontaneously to Newquay, which took about 90mins from #Plymouth (had a little detour because I rely on maps, not GPS) Have a great #driving playlist, which is vital. Have been to London and back in a day (8 hr round trip) for a gig/event in the past too #PTTravel

replying to @bigfatheadz @bigfatheadz #pttravel Same thing with Southampton. Usually, if we're going to see a show, we take a car, just for peace of mind.

bigfatheadz

Most of the time I book a £35 premier Inn room on a Friday night in the vicinity of where we want to be and then arrive there about 10-11pm then head out to the place around 10am before driving home in the evening. I work too long hours to get up too early at the wend #PTTravel

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A2 For a day trip I wouldn’t go too far so maybe set off mid morning and be back by late afternoon, especially on a Sunday as need a restful Sunday night 😃 #PTTravel

replying to @Txiki_Tales @Txiki_Tales @kate_frankie I think Whitby is going to be one of my trips this year. Probably. I dunno. I'm not good at making plans at the moment #pttravel

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A2: The earlier we can leave, the better! If the day trip is over the weekend, we aim to get back around 7pm. If it’s during the week, around 4pm. Budget is typically the same it would be on any given day- excluding the £30ish for transportation #PTTravel

A3 #pttravel Bath is easily do-able from here. Train if you're in a hurry; bus if you want to see the countryside

replying to @vickyinglis13 @vickyinglis13 You're Bedford aren't you? Yeah I think London has to be planned or it's no good - we've been up a couple of times without planning and failed to see anything we wanted to! we have learned now! #pttravel

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A2: spent £30 on #Newquay, as just decided on the day. That included petrol and lunch. Three hour drive for 3 hr stay 😁 Max for day out would be £70-80. Any more and I'd want an overnight. #PTTravel
