replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A5. I have not. To be honest, the only āessentialā thing I could think of is my...passport. #PTTravel

replying to @aandj8804 @aandj8804 ... I mean, it quite clearly says "do not sit here" ... #pttravel
replying to @TIBTraveller @TIBTraveller @JKatzaman #pttravel Not a great disaster; it only contained my toilet bag, night things and a change of clothes.

RT @MissJulietFrost: @RTWBarefoot Halfway down the plane steps I realised my hands and pockets all felt a bit empty. Very lucky! #PTTravel
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie @MissJulietFrost Thank goodness! My husband won't let me take my wedding ring off because I've lost so much jewelry! #pttravel
replying to @bigfatheadz @bigfatheadz I'd be food ššš my sister is the same. I don't have any meds or things like glasses to worry about. I'd be a bit lost without my phone but more of an inconvenience than actual danger #PTTravel

replying to @RTWBarefoot @RTWBarefoot You and @vickyinglis13 came to mind with this question. You should both get books written/published! #PTTravel

@kate_frankie @vickyinglis13 I've been working on a book of my West African adventure, but since Traverse16 so you can gather how well that's going ...

A4. I'm very good at finding things others have left behind. Water bottles, phone chargers, sunglasses. Like a womble. #pttravel
replying to @vickyinglis13 @vickyinglis13 That definitely was a good answer š #PTTravel
A1 (further) #pttravel Nearly forgot! Went on a cruise; packed my DJ, but didn't pack a bow tie! Fortunately, I was able to borrow one from the Maitre D.
replying to @bigfatheadz @bigfatheadz @kate_frankie š I didn't think of this essential! Reminds me of the time I drove 5 hours with one eye shut because one of my contact lenses ripped on a weekend away. Always pack extras folks! #pttravel
replying to @TIBTraveller @TIBTraveller Would probably depend on what was lost or left behind. I think I would only try to recover an item in a remote area if I was desperate. #pttravel
replying to @RTWBarefoot @kate_frankie @vickyinglis13 I'm working on a fantasy adventure novel where a lot of the places are based on places I've been and adventures I've had, though? And one of the characters is basically a female version of me ... #pttravel

A5 I haven't lost anything when I've gone to more remote places. Maybe I'm more careful or carry less?
I'd never be gone for long so anything can be replaced when you get to a city
replying to @NomadKeith @NomadKeith ...... I have never worn a bow-tie nor ever been in a situation where I would need to. #pttravel We move in very different circles ... :p

replying to @RTWBarefoot @RTWBarefoot @kate_frankie @Dilliebooks Ahahaha, I've been "working on the book" since 2016 too. Maybe I'll get a draft done soon, maybe researching will keep being more interesting than writing ššš #pttravel
replying to @TIBTraveller @TIBTraveller @kate_frankie @vickyinglis13 cheers :) I occasionally mention it on my "other twitter", but yeh, when it's finished I'll let you know! #pttravel

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A6: Donāt get stressed out about it. Everything is replaceable even a passport. As mentioned by some before, have a copy of your passport in every bag and you will survive. people are helpful even if you donāt speak the language! #pttravel
Advice for travelers on lost items?: Don't take anything important to you to begin with? Maybe keep a list of what you are taking? Double check your hotel room before leaving? #pttravel
replying to @BudgetBreakBlog @BudgetBreakBlog @bigfatheadz My friend had a bloodshot eye one day and when I asked he said his contact lense split and caused the irritation. Looked sore! Anything with eye trauma makes me š¤¢ #PTTravel
A6 #pttravel I have been saving one of my life rules till the last: 'If it would break your heart to lose it, don't take it'

#pttravel I realise this is a lot harder to do than to say.
It's frustrating to lose something, I know this, oh yes, I know this. But, yeh ... if it doesn't stop you travelling, it's fine.
RT @RTWBarefoot: #pttravel A6: ... unless it's something vital, don't sweat it. Shit happens.
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie @BudgetBreakBlog @bigfatheadz I'm very squeamish about eyes. This is why i don't do contact lenses. And look away if someone puts them in / takes them out their eyes! #pttravel
replying to @NomadKeith @NomadKeith I wonder if I need anything formal on the ship to Antarctica š¤Øš¤ it looks pretty casual but it will be Christmas/NYE too #PTTravel
#pttravel I lost a taxi once. Like, I came through a border checkpoint and it had buggered off without me.
It did come back about half an hour later, but still.
Had my luggage in it too!
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A6 #pttravel my advice would be to have a plan in place for the loss of the main essentials. Always carry extras in different places, like a photocopy of your passport or an emergency credit card. Everything can be replaced (even your passport) so don't sweat it!
replying to @BudgetBreakBlog @BudgetBreakBlog @kate_frankie I just cba with admin. #pttravel it's frustrating and bureaucratic and ... stuff!
