replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A1 My first solo trip was also the first time I travelled. I moved from Canada to New Zealand on a one year student exchange when I was 15! This photo is from Mt. Ruapehu after our secondary school class built and slept in snow caves #pttravel

A1 #PTTravel 1961; Barossa Valley from Adelaide. Far exceeded my expectations (what I remember of it, anyway 😆🥂)

A1 Not counting to and from Air Force basic training, my first short solo trip was a relatively short drive to Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, so I could say I saw the ocean. It was in a February with the whole beach to myself. #PTtravel

A1 When I was 21ish in the early 90s I did a gap year in Moulins, France working as an English Assistant in a couple of schools - I turned up at the school with my rucksack and little else. Spent a lot of time travelling the region and enjoying cheap French wine! #pttravel

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A1. London. Right away, I knew it was going to be the first of many solo trips. I loved it. Loved my own living space, freedom to do what I wanted without having to coordinate with someone else, etc. #pttravel

A1 #PTTravel I solo travelled before solo travel was cool. My first large trip was to Southern California & I visited Los Angeles & sat in the audience of a couple of TV shows something I had always wanted to do.

A1. I don't think I've done that many solo trips, as I'll often meet a ship's crew or expedition team on the way. But I had a wonderful few weeks in Iceland several years ago driving the ring road, hiking and camping #pttravel

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A1: My first solo trip was to London, Wales, Paris, and then on to Naples to nanny when I was 19. It was 1999. no cellphones, no social media, and I carried a huge @lonelyplanet book with me ;-) #PTTravel

replying to @heywhatsupcourt @heywhatsupcourt @kate_frankie A1 #PTTravel Not sure. It was a very long time ago. I used to hitch-hike around the UK a lot when I was a student.

A1 My first solo trip was a week in Norway (in December, eeeek) and I spent sometime in Oslo then took the train across the mountains to Bergen, it was heavenly, and I loved having lots of time to myself. #PTTravel
