A2 On that first trip, the only risk was not dressing to be warm enough by the Atlantic in the winter. A follow-up trip during summer tourist season I had no such worry. Jammed roads kept me miles away from the beach before I turned back. #PTtravel

A2 #PTTravel Would the car make it? (it did) Would it rain, and would my tent keep it out? (Yes and no; fortunately, the car was fairly waterproof) Was it dangerous? Well, I ony paid £30 for the car; go figure!

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A2. I didn’t really have any fears. I used the same precautions and common sense I used at home. Same for all my subsequent solo trips, including Morocco, Hong Kong, Central America, and Europe. I’ve never had a safety issue. #pttravel

A2 #PTTravel If there were risks, I didn't notice them in the beginning. It never felt dangerous. My biggest problem & was more of a nuisance than anything are the people who want to sell you something on the street or want money in some other way. I saw a lot of it in Vietnam

A2 I think the younger you are, the fewer fears you have. Besides, I had grown up seeing some 'rough' areas of NW England at first hand. On the trip to France someone approached me with a knife at Gare de L'Est - I got away unscathed & still with 300 euros in my sock! #pttravel

A2 I didn’t find it dangerous at all. Boston was a pretty safe city for my first solo trip and it felt like an adventure! Even in the evening ☺️ #PTTravel

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A2 It can be dangerous but so is travelling with others. Unfortunately tourists make an easy target for thieves and all sorts of bad people, especially when alcohol is involved. I don't have a biggest fear but I've been nervous in Asia where I stand out as a foreigner #pttravel

A2- I've never really been the worrying type. I just kind of go where the universe takes me and deal with it when I get there #pttravel #travelingsession #SundayThoughts

A2 I had a lot of fears on my first solo trip. I know there are risks & in my insurance assessments for work, there are specific risks for female travelers who are alone. I make sure I know what to do if anything happens (as far as possible).

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A2: My biggest fear was feeling lonely and having to do everything on my own, but it was actually really enlightening. I accidentally took a pic of a drug deal in Naples, and had to hide in a bank. but otherwise no issues! #PTTravel

A2. I worried a lot about meeting people I didn't know. I suffer with really bad anxiety at times, and socialising without some familiar things (and people) is a challenge then #pttravel

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A2) There are always fears when travelling solo as a woman especially where there are language barriers but I did meet a few people to talk to at the hotel! #PTTravel

replying to @HHLifestyleTrav @HHLifestyleTrav @kate_frankie A2 #PTTravel 'Fear is the mind killer...' No, travelling is generally safe. Although there have been a few incidents. Once when I had Malaria, another when the back axle of a share taxi broke in the middle of nowhere in West Africa.

A2. Nothing too scary - I chose Norway because it's a pretty safe country, and I wanted somewhere I could feel comfortable. Travelling alone felt like such an adventure though. #PTTravel
