#PTTravel A5 I book accommodations in advance, so no problem there. For things like day tours, I have found some want at least two people on the trip. I found a lot of this in Vietnam. The only time I paid extra was single supplement the few times I used a tour company.

A5 #PTTravel The 'single supplement' has been one of my pet hobby horses for years! A *reasonable* amount for single occupation of a double room, OK ... but, when they charge a supplement for a single room in the attic, where you have to lie on the bed to change your trousers ...

A5 This is one of my bugbears - charging solo travellers more. Single supplements are totally ridiculous. I'm in the same room a couple would use and I'm happy to pay the same but not more! I got charged extra in Malta and Majorca. Can we abolish that & hidden fees?!

Usually only place meet travelers is in hostels, but..not easy to really do anything together. They either are meeting someone or they are part of a group. #PTTravel

A5 I wouldn’t say it’s too different. With enough research, you can get good hotel deals and experiences can be cheaper as you’re only paying for one! That’s why I nabbed a last minute ticket to see Foreigner live when I went to Austin as a solo traveller #PTTravel

#pttravel A5, yes using hostel there is no extra charge. Even some youth hostel have single room not much expensive. I never had to pay more just because I was by myself

A1 My first solo trip was a week in Norway (in December, eeeek) and I spent sometime in Oslo then took the train across the mountains to Bergen, it was heavenly, and I loved having lots of time to myself. #PTTravel

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A6 My advice is that you need to be realistic. Solo travel isn't likely to give you a new outlook on life like 'Eat Pray Love' but it can give you confidence. I'd say you need feel somewhat comfortable in new or different situations to enjoy it #PTTravel
