A1. I love a thunderstorm. And I don't mind being out in the rain either, but as a sailor it's the wind and swell that I pay attention to. If it's too much, we stay put. #PTTravel

A1 both have been in Asia - torrential rain and thunderstorms. No risk to life but we were soaked to the bone, but had an amazing light show! #PTTravel
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A1 I love them - a big storm can be an incredible experience! #PTTravel
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie The interactive elements are phenomenal ššš #pttravel
A2 #PTTravel Off the north coast of Scotland about five years ago. We had a television set land on one of the beds ... fortunately, I wasn't in it at the time, or I'd probably have broken both legs.
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A2: The rains falls differently in West Africa! It's like the heavens get really angry. Most people have the common sense to simply stay indoors when the weather gets that way. #PTTravel
A2- When I lived in Okinawa, we had a heavy monsoon season. But, that was better than typhoon season

replying to @RTWBarefoot @RTWBarefoot @kate_frankie @LadiesWTravel I just learned today that this is called petrichor after googling something @JordanJaunt wrote. I feel I should have known that for a long time already #pttravel
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A2. Lightning storm & flash flooding in the desert in Morocco. Roads washed out. Was stranded in a bus for several hours. I have never experienced such thunder and lightning. It was scary...and exhilarating. #pttravel
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A2 Driving through Salt Lake City - so much rain the road was like a river, and lightning bolts striking all around the car! #PTTravel

replying to @vickyinglis13 @vickyinglis13 @kate_frankie @LadiesWTravel @JordanJaunt it is .... but you also get the released smell of the trees and flowers as well so it adds to the overall aroma #pttravel especially pinewoods.

A2 #pttravel Until I visited Singapore, some of the worst weather I had encountered was Ljubljana, Slovenia. 2 days of almost non stop rain & thunder. Scary visit to the castle that morning, but I wasnāt calling it off.
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A1. I love dozing to the sound of lashing rain, but Iām not so fond of being awake and outside in them. Once the downpourās over, however, Iām a total convert. #PTTravel
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A2. Where I live, we get extreme weather in summer and winter. I've experienced horrible thunderstorms in the summer that have turned the sky pitch black in the middle of the day and caused flooding to winter snow/ice storms that have caused power outages for weeks #PTTravel

replying to @char_x0 @char_x0 I'd be scared of hurricane season because it can destroy so much. Did it hit where you were? Did you have to stay in and go to a basement? #PTTravel

A2. I was evacuated from where I was staying in Belize for a hurricane, though it was downgraded to a tropical wave by the time it reached us in Belmopan. So much rain, not so much wind #PTTravel

replying to @dipyourtoesin @dipyourtoesin @kate_frankie I saw very short but intense and heavy downpours in Ghana, just an hour in the afternoon. Not the days of bleugh that we get in Scotland #pttravel
A2 #PTTravel
Cambodia was intense during bad monsoon rains. Our van couldn't get through because there was a landslide. We had to wade through it and I've never been so wet or hassled!
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A2 Has to be Sorrento in Italy. Couldn't sleep because of that storm and as my window was facing the sea, wind was unbearable too #PTTravel
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie Not so much. The wind isn't the problem...it's the volume and ferocity of water. Think flooding on a "Noah's Ark" level in some places. #PTTravel
