replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie @char_x0 I don't pack medical kits for the UK or for 99% of trips anywhere in the world. You can generally buy whatever you need. There are only a few countries in the world or hikes or trips to very remote rural areas where I would make up a medical kit. #PTTravel

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A4 #PTTravel Trips of a week are routine with just carryon, but I've gone 2 weeks (knowing I could wash clothes).

Over 2 weeks probably need to check luggage, especially if with a friend who wants to eat out, nice restaurants, etc.

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie I picked up a cheap hard suitcase from Primark a few years back - it's definitely my go to. It great as it's cabin size but I can fit so much in there! #PTTravel

A4 For a few days' trip, I tried to get away with a carry-on plus a folded hang-up bag. Of course, those were the days before airlines charged fees for breathing. #PTTravel

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie I took a carry on to China for 2 months and I never felt like I didn't have enough. Although, I did buy clothes there because of the price and how much I loved them. That was hard to fit in the carry on 😅 #PTTravel

replying to @HHLifestyleTrav @HHLifestyleTrav @kate_frankie I don't usually pack a tripod either, but I went to Joshua Tree National Park this summer to photograph the stars, so it was kind of imperative for that. I also tend to leave my laptop at home; too much can happen to kill it. 😳 #pttravel

A4 #PTTravel I like to use a carry on for delicate things like electronics & things I want to use on the plane. Everything else can go into a small check case including the things you can’t carry on.

replying to @Txiki_Tales @Txiki_Tales Go for it. My dad has one! It’s just more practical than having to ask a partner with a bag to carry stuff for you all the time, and way more comfortable than having bulk swinging round your thighs #pttravel

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A4. I think I have done just under a week, but my carry on bags are pretty small. I get annoyed at people bringing huge bags into plane cabins, so I try and keep it compact and try to squeeze them in. #PTTravel

A4. I don't take long trips without a purpose, so I couldn't fit everything I need in a small pack. But I have a 90litre holdall for my sailing trips, and packed everything I needed for a six month trip into that. #pttravel

A4 I've done up to a week in a carry on case which was fine. I had everything I needed. I did a year in my big backpack! You just wash and wear the same stuff. I found I didn't need much at all. Hostels/hotels are so good now that all the facilities are there

#pttravel A4: about two and a half months. And yes.

My theory is, if you are away longer than 4 days, you're going to have to wash clothes anyway, therefore as that's the bulk of your luggage, there's no real need in taking more than that.
