replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A4 #PTTravel Trips of a week are routine with just carryon, but I've gone 2 weeks (knowing I could wash clothes).

Over 2 weeks probably need to check luggage, especially if with a friend who wants to eat out, nice restaurants, etc.

A4 Just a long weekend. I think it is easier to have everything you need when you are travelling somewhere warm #PTTravel

A4 For a few days' trip, I tried to get away with a carry-on plus a folded hang-up bag. Of course, those were the days before airlines charged fees for breathing. #PTTravel

A4 #PTTravel I like to use a carry on for delicate things like electronics & things I want to use on the plane. Everything else can go into a small check case including the things you can’t carry on.

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A4: We did 8 weeks in the USA & Canada with hand luggage. However, we did take advantage of the cheap clothes shopping, so we did upgrade halfway through to accommodate a new wardrobe! LOL #PTTravel

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A4. I think I have done just under a week, but my carry on bags are pretty small. I get annoyed at people bringing huge bags into plane cabins, so I try and keep it compact and try to squeeze them in. #PTTravel

A4. I don't take long trips without a purpose, so I couldn't fit everything I need in a small pack. But I have a 90litre holdall for my sailing trips, and packed everything I needed for a six month trip into that. #pttravel

A4 Four days ... and used everything. No hardship with anything I forgot/didn't bring. #PTTravel

A4 I've done up to a week in a carry on case which was fine. I had everything I needed. I did a year in my big backpack! You just wash and wear the same stuff. I found I didn't need much at all. Hostels/hotels are so good now that all the facilities are there

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A4. I’ve traveled carry on only for about 20 years. I’ve always felt like I had enough. I love the ease of cruising through airports, train, and subway stations. And no stress of lost luggage. #PTTravel

#pttravel A4: about two and a half months. And yes.

My theory is, if you are away longer than 4 days, you're going to have to wash clothes anyway, therefore as that's the bulk of your luggage, there's no real need in taking more than that.

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A4) I don’t cope well with a small carry on but it’s for a city-break then I can manage BUT for longer trips I never feel like I take enough?! I always need options #PTTravel

A4- I rarely go anywhere with just a carry on. It cost to check bags, but I'd rather have everything I need and not have to worry about finding a store when I get there #PTTravel #travelingsession

A4 Up to now we've only done long weekend trips as hand luggage only however we have booked a 3week+ trip for the new year as hand luggage only so we'll keep you posted on how that turns out for us! #PTTravel

A4 #PTTravel Shaving cream and toothpaste ... hotels usually provide soap/shampoo/shower gel. Needs to be travel size if I'm flying and hand luggage only. (considering growing a beard, but wifely approval not forthcoming)

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A4: We did three weeks in Southeast Asia with a carry-on. But I think any length of trip is do-able because you can always do laundry! As long as the climate isn't changing too much, you can pack for 2 days, 2 weeks or 2 months in a carry-on! #pttravel
