replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie Think for me it'd be countryside, bright lights of the big city may make it lose its beauty. (but I do love pretty city lights!) #pttravel

A5 #PTTravel Probably no room. I always have a room reserved the first night, but that is something you can usually get last minute. Cancelled or missed flights can really mess things up. I arrived in Vietnam 15 hrs. late & lost one night on a room due to a missed flight.

A5 #PTTravel Never happened so far! I did have a flight to Madrid cancel once, and the Iberia people were kind enough to phone the hotel, and ensure my reservation would be held open till I arrived.

A5 Hmm maybe a flight cancelled as the airline has to get me there and I'll get comp. Unless I arrive early afternoon as I can then sort a new hotel easily #pttravel

A5 Where was the flight cancelled? If from home, no problem to regroup. If when making connections, it's more inconvenient, unless the airline doesn't offer a hotel room. For pointers, see Tom Hanks. #PTTravel

A5 Had both! Once arrived in Rome and hotel didn't have booking plus the Pope was canonising a saint and so it was a tad busy. We were housed in the boxiest of box rooms...maybe more of a cupboard/closet. Had a giggle about that one. #PTTravel

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A5 No hotel room, atleast we are at the destination and there's always a way to find a room or somewhere to stay. We have experienced no hotel room before. The Trans-Canada highway was closed all day and the town at the closure had no rooms, we had to sleep in the car. #pttravel

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A5. Both would be frustrating, but I’d choose no hotel as the lesser evil. At least I’d be at my destination already and can make adjustments quickly. #pttravel

I've had both happen & I think I'm better with fight cancellation tbh. When I get there, I just want my room & to settle in. I guess the are more accommodation options in most places. I've been bumped to a different hotel for the night in Spain & Malta - don't get me

replying to @kate_frankie started on overbooking! Scandalous. I honestly think it comes down to sheer greed with package deals and popular destinations. I've been very lucky with flights so far that I've been transferred within a couple of hours. No overnight stays or being stranded #PTTravel

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie Probably a cancelled flight - now I've already had experience of 1, I know what to do in that case. Whereas, I'm particular about rooms (have to research for months before booking a hotel) to book something alternative in the moment abroad may send me into free fall #pttravel
