A1 If I am having the deal with cold weather I do enjoy going ice skating and I like the cute little themed pop ups that have heated lamps that are really cosy and warm #PTtravel

replying to @WorldTravelWM @WorldTravelWM I agree that snow, ice or frost/mist is beautiful in photos. I fell in love with ice in #Antarctica. It was different every day #PTTravel

replying to @RTWBarefoot @RTWBarefoot @kate_frankie Honestly don’t know how we have never made it to a point where our transport systems can cope in different weather situations, I once had to walk three hours home from work because the trains stopped and the traffic was a complete standstill because of snow #PTTravel

replying to @RTWBarefoot @kate_frankie I don't have a pic of it, but tbf it's a great hat. Bought in China many years ago. It has furry flaps that cover the ears, cheeks, and chin.

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A1. Short answer: no 🤣, I hate cold weather.

But there are good things you can do in winter, for example searching for Northern Lights or simply look at starry skies (usually clearer in winter).

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A1. I like winter, because crowds are fewer. The downside, however, is that days are short and some places keep “winter hours” meaning they close entirely over Christmas and New Year’s. #pttravel

A2 #pttravel When I went to Europe in Dec. 2015, I bought a battery powered coat for the trip expecting snow and cold. Europe was having one of their warmest winters in over a generation, I hardly used it. I did find use for it during my New Year trip to NYC later on.

replying to @WorldTravelWM @WorldTravelWM @kate_frankie I definitely think holiday snow is a different ball game. I went to Switzerland and had the best time but yet at home I can’t bare the slightest hint that snow is coming #PTTravel

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie I actually hate having to layer up in the winter but honestly can’t cope without my huge scarf. It’s so big that I can wear it as a scarf and use it as a cover to protect from the rain but I don’t know the brand as tags always annoy me and I cut them off #PTTravel

And of course suitable shoes for the planned activities.

... or a nice swimsuit if flying to Tropics 🤣

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A2 I think wool or polar fleece is great for winter because it's warm when wet. For boots, we wear Canadian brands like Kamik or Baffin (I'm wearing them now). Waterproof is better! Think ski gloves, ski jackets and insulated rainboots. #PTTravel
