My tip is: make use of the "down times". For example when I take the metro to go to work: it's a good time to look for materials, send emails and so on.

Plan ahead and follow the priorities you have set. Ask for help when you need it. Getting stressed won’t help.

We had reservations at Grand Canyon Village, so we drove 4 hours in the dark through snow storms to get there via Flagstaff. #PTTravel

So far it only happened to me that a single day went wrong. Not the whole trip.
I usually try to put "buffer times" to prevent that.
Tip: never go too far the day you need to get a flight.
