replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A5 Perseverance! At the Grand Canyon last December we arrived at the East gate just as they closed the gates due to icy conditions. We had reservations at Grand Canyon Village, so we drove 4 hours in the dark through snow storms to get there via Flagstaff. #PTTravel

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A5: 😱😱😱😱😱

So far it only happened to me that a single day went wrong. Not the whole trip.

I usually try to put "buffer times" to prevent that.

Tip: never go too far the day you need to get a flight.

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A5. I dread disruption until it happens, at which point I realise I like nothing better. All of my favourite trips have coincided with freak snowstorms. #PTTravel

A5 normally a back up - when our plane couldn't fly back to Tbilisi last Easter we took the 10 hour bus journey. #pttravel

A5 #PTTravel It's never really happened to me. The Isle of Tiree was a work trip ... so, when the ferry cancelled, I just got to spend an extra couple of days on a beautiful island.

A5 Getting a trip back on track is one way to put it. More than 30 years ago in Germany, I had to improvise when the first half of my train continued to my destination, but not me. Again, who knew Europeans divide trains? #PTTravel

I'm good at contingency plans and just problem solving so not really too stressed.
I expect at least one thing to go wrong or change and I just take care of it by re-booking a flight or going to a different hotel etc

A5 #PTTravel (more) I remember getting stressed out by a slight snowstorm. I rang & asked the airline if the flight was still on, & was told 'Of course it is! It isn't snowing in Singapore!' πŸ˜€
