RT @Coco_Travels: @JKatzaman Yes - either a woolly hat if it's cold or a cap if it's warm to keep the sun off - a must have! #PTTravel

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie I've been making plans for it for the last few years, + just not quite found the time. I'd really hoped to do it this year š¤ #PTTravel

replying to @Coco_Travels @Coco_Travels @Txiki_Tales @kate_frankie Nah just taking it as it comes. All happens for a reason š¤·āāļø actually enjoying my time in the countryside away from London. Plus extra money won't go amiss! #pttravel

replying to @JKatzaman @JKatzaman A hat/cap and often a scarf. I don't like getting sunburnt because I've had basal cell carcinoma. Sunscreen in summer for me and plenty of water too #PTTravel

A6 #pttravel It's oft-repeated advice but ... tell someone where you're going, and what time you expect to be back, and wear comfortable shoes.

A5. Sunblock, water, + good walking shoes. Doesn't always have to be hiking boots, + I have been known to walk a lot in flip flops, but they have to be strong enough. #pttravel

A6 #PTTravel I think it's most important to know what your body can take, don't overdo it. I can do 15 miles around a city, but I routinely walk 4 miles in an hour. Also, know what it is you want to see & have a map or map app in your phone.

A6: Start early, be prepared, have the right footwear, drink water, hire a guide if you're worried/unsure of route, if hiking is the main reason of or your trip - start getting your fitness levels up before you travel #PTTravel

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie Hiking in California someone told me that if you need to be rescued, they assess whether you were prepared and if not, you foot the bill. I get asked regularly āwhich way to..how do you get to...ā people on mountains in trainers. Go prepared. Donāt be an idiot. #PTTravel

replying to @vickyinglis13 @vickyinglis13 Yes, I often walk in my Havaianas if the weather is good - although sometimes I have regretted it! #PTTravel

A6 If trapped inside for a prolonged time, make the transition to hiking gradually -- a few laps around the yard, a couple times around the block, stroll a mile or so. Be sure to say hi to strangers. They might be your family. #PTTravel

@vickyinglis13 I've never liked flip flops. I'm always hyper-aware they might flip off and I'll flop as a result. Not even sure how they stay on.
My sandals always must have a back to them, an ankle strap i mean. #pttravel

A6 Walking enables you to really get a feel for a city and find little hidden gems. Do read up and take advice about clothing/equipment to take with you on a proper hike, particularly in the mountains - in many places the weather can change really really quickly! #pttravel

A6 I know itās a bit simple but itās good to stretch before you start so your muscles wonāt cramp as much #pttravel
