replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A1. I took a short cruise on the Nile, I’ve been kayaking, and punting on the Cam if that counts. 😃 #PTTravel

RT @TinyTrekkers: Took a boat through #Asias most overrated waterway and spent a while being nothing but a feeding opportunity for the regi…

replying to @Txiki_Tales @Txiki_Tales My son got stung by a jellyfish on that beach. He asked what I could do for him, I said apparently if you pee on a jellyfish sting it helps. He decided he’d rather die. An hour later it was a distant memory as we sat watching a movie in the movie bars nearby. #PTtravel

RT @Txiki_Tales: A1 We've never taken a river cruise holiday but we've done plenty of short boat trips, plus an overnight ferry a couple of…

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A1) Does island hopping off the coast of Turkey count!? #PTTravel

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A1 Been on several boat trips. One of my favorites is the dramatic limestone mountains and caves at Tam Coc, Vietnam. #PTTravel

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie I'm fine...just finished working for the day. #PTTravel

replying to @StuartMHurlbut @StuartMHurlbut @kate_frankie I do love a bit of Kerala. Some amazing rivers up in Kashmir too. If ever you’re back in #India. #PTtravel

replying to @TinyTrekkers @TinyTrekkers #pttravel It looks much more fun in an airboat, with a machine gun up front, and a speaker belting out Rolling Stones 'Satisfaction' 🤣

RT @StuartMHurlbut: @kate_frankie A1 Yes a number of times. These are some of my pictures from a backwater trip in Kerala. It was a relax…

RT @RooLovesTravel: @RTWBarefoot @kate_frankie I grew up with Rosie and Jim so was convinced that was the lifestyle for me! #pttravel

replying to @TinyTrekkers @TinyTrekkers @kate_frankie I've not yet got around to a houseboat in Kashmir...it's on my list...#PTTravel

A1 I much prefer rivers and canals than the open sea, despite my expression on the first photo

replying to @TinyTrekkers @TinyTrekkers @Txiki_Tales #pttravel It does work ... if you don't have any vinegar handy!

replying to @vickyinglis13 @kate_frankie Oh, that's not true. We took the Viking ship up the St Lawrence, stopping in Quebec, Montreal + Toronto, as well as a few smaller towns on the way. It wasn't exactly luxury, as we went from the cold, iceberg-filled North Atlantic, to a heatwave of 33°c with no shade. #PTTravel

Q2 How do you find accommodation on boats? Do they have all the facilities you need?

RT @NomadKeith: A1 #PTTravel ... and here's one of my favourites https://t.co/HErt9lXQCt

@kate_frankie A2: i mean, they have somewhere to lie, somewhere to cook, and somewhere to poop. It's fine.
And you can drive them to pubs, which caters for two of those needs!
The electrics aren't great, and the cooking isn't ideal, but it's fine. #pttravel

A2 I've never looked tbh. Just not my thing - I did spend one night in a wheelhouse on a houseboat on the Ouse in York. That was enough. Forever 🤢 #pttravel

replying to @StuartMHurlbut @StuartMHurlbut Backwaters in Kerala would be fantastic. I've loved afternoon trips there but would like a longer trip one time to explore more #PTTravel

A1 A fjord day cruise (so not the massive ones but beautiful all the same) from the gorgeous Bergen. #pttravel

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A2. I'm always amazed on a boat where I can have a bunk to myself + the water ingress is minimal. I have basic needs 😁 #PTTravel

RT @char_x0: @kate_frankie A1) Does island hopping off the coast of Turkey count!? #PTTravel

replying to @RTWBarefoot @RTWBarefoot @kate_frankie Yes I have heard of her, I must look her up one day! #pttravel

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie So, do I! This is me on a Pampas tour in Bolivia a few years ago. #PTTravel

A2 #PTTravel Adequate ... sometimes luxurious, especially on Rhine cruise boats. I little cramped on some of the older boats, but I can live with it.

A2 #pttravel I’ve never stayed overnight on a boat, so I can’t say anything about overnight accommodations. Seating & food depends on what boat you’re on. Sometimes it’s fine, sometimes not so much.

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A2 I research online. Also, recommendation from friends, family twitter travel folks. The accommodation of our cruise at Bai Tu Long Bay, Vietnam was fantastic with such scenic views. #PTTravel

A 1 #PTTravel almost every boat trip was great experience. One was Halong Bay. another one was exploring Loktak Lake floating huts, Manipur and everyone’s fav houseboats of Kerala

A1- I try to do a river cruise every city I visit if they have one. I remember this one in #Prague.

A2 A night on a small boat was cramped & shared toilet - no shower. I’ve done cruises which are good for having a choice of food, own bathroom. but are also cramped. Have spotted Wales though! There’s also the odd feeling once you get off that you’re still swaying! #PTTravel

replying to @Pinkzenjoy @Pinkzenjoy @kate_frankie I hate naps. they make me feel really bad. #pttravel lol. but to each their won.

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A2 It depends, some boats are basic others can be a little more luxurious. I've tended to the more basic most of the time. #PTTravel
