Learn SOME of the local language (please, yes/no, Thanks, Hello, Bye)

Be bold and dare to be different - try new foods. I love having a waiter/waitress order their favorite dinner for me! Great surprises.

Dont bring/wear new sneakers !!

A6 #PTTravel If there is a hop on/hop off bus tour, take it! It'll give you a good idea of where everything is ... and they usually give you a map.

replying to @Pinkzenjoy @Pinkzenjoy @ronanmaenardo @kate_frankie Everything is a shade of blue on the Silk Road. #pttravel It reminds me of my grandmother's china sets. And it's much much prettier in situ.

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A6. Learn and use the public transportation system. Walk around, too. Ask the locals where they like to eat rather than relying on the tourist trap places. #pttravel

A6 Check rules now. Also insurance. Its an unusual year but people are starting to travel.
Research, think about what kind of city break you want and stay somewhere that got good transport links but not next to a tourist landmark. Unless that's your jam!

A6 #PTTravel Another good tip ... if you're staying at a hotel. pick up a business card, which is a great help with taxi drivers, etc. if you have difficulty with the language,
