replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie I went to the Grand Canyon in 1999, no digital photos back then. So amazing though! #pttravel
#PTTravel Chat
The place I posted photos of before the chat was a mixed site in Lesotho/South Africa called Maloti-Drakensburg Park.
I'd like to visit here. Also Galapagos Islands and UK sites!
replying to @NomadKeith @NomadKeith @kate_frankie No. That's the biggest lake in the world; if that ceases to *be*, I suspect we have bigger worries ... :p #pttravel
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie #A5 #PTTravel I read so much about Yellowstone National Park and always resisted from seeing too many pictures as I wanted to see it with my own eyes š Missed visiting during my previous trip to USA. Wish to see it soon

Q6 What advice would you give to other travellers who would like to go to more natural UNESCO World Heritage sites?
replying to @kate_frankie
@kate_frankie A5. So many. Too many to mention. Lately we have been talking about the Great Barrier #Reef a lot. We love to snorkel and are worried about the changing oceans. We want to be able to visit an experience it while we still can.

A6 #PTTravel Know what you want to see, how to get there & what transportation options are available. Plitvice Lakes National Park for example has exactly two options, car or bus. Also know what lodging is available & if you should book in advance.
A6 #PTTravel If you can, plan your trip for the shoulder season, midweek if possible. It'll be much less crowded and the admission charges, if any, may be lower.
replying to @NomadKeith @NomadKeith @RTWBarefoot @kate_frankie Ah no, that's the Aral Sea. Baikal is huge + very deep + freezes up each winter #PTTravel

replying to @bigfatheadz @bigfatheadz #pttravel I'm not in favour of the day trips some operators offer; on a multi-day trip, you'll probably get to see an sunrise and a sunset, and that's something you'll never forget.

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie #PTTravel A6: plan more time than you think you need for most of them. If possible go by yourself to be flexible with your time. Maybe hire a guide for part of it, especially if involving wildlife.

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie #A6 #PTTravel access to many natural sites is often tricky. Plan well in advance and have 2-3 days buffer for unforeseen weather conditions.
