replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A1: Yes, spring and autumn are my favourite times to travel (back in normal times of course!). I avoid going away in summer - too expensive, busy and full of children. I don't mind a winter city break either. #PTtravel

#pttravel A1: also i have a habit of travelling to places which don't have "seasons" as we understand them here; often the best (driest!?) time to visit them is often in our shoulder seasons.

A1 I love shoulder season and I have no kids right now. Less crowds, mild temps and cheaper deals make it a great option. I also get to this point in the year & want/need a break

replying to @RTWBarefoot @RTWBarefoot @kate_frankie #pttravel Yes ... a lot of people hold the idea that 'summer' ends at the August Bank Holiday. Summer weather is just a 'nice to have' anyway. As long as it's not raining too much.

replying to @Stromfieldadvs @Stromfieldadvs @kate_frankie It's at its best at this time of year, with all the autumn colours + mountains have just started to get snowy tops. #PTTravel

replying to @NomadKeith @NomadKeith @kate_frankie yes. I was in Whitley Bay once on August Bank Holiday - it was 12ºC and raining.

replying to @RTWBarefoot @RTWBarefoot #pttravel True: I find the closer to the Equator you get, seasons don't really matter ... except the monsoon season, which is best avoided

West Africa, the Balkans, Australia good for Autumn. I believe Central America is good for Spring.

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A2: I don't mind the weather. Japan is brilliant in spring but closer to home I love Sweden and Denmark. I'd say spring is great for most European city breaks too. For autumn, you can't beat Munich - cosy beerhalls and beautiful scenery. #PTtravel

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A2 I like flying off for a bit of sunshine when it’s colder and darker in the uk. Mini-trips in the south of Europe are good. Or I’ve visited hot places off season so they’re a bit cooler #pttravel
