replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie #pttravel I don't do holiday spirit. It's never been my scene. I think because I spend so much time on my own that I've just kind of never seen the point, you know? I'd never have a tree since I'd rarely be home enough to see it, plus it gets in the way.

Why did I leave New Mexico, in winter, for this ???

replying to @RTWBarefoot @kate_frankie #pttravel And, honestly, because I have a very small family who I never see anyway, and because I'm not typically religious, the whole period is fairly irrelevent to me.

I'd rather work it and take a holiday at a more convenient time for me.

But I don't make the rules.

Q1 Holiday season can be different times & for different festivals around the world. Christmas and New Year in the UK is my biggest holiday season. Whats yours, do you travel or do special events and why?

Xmas New Years - of course big. And mostly family.

But 4th of July in USA is a HUGE midsummer event, with outdoors stuff, beaches, fireworks, BBQs. More friends event than family stuff.

A1 #pttravel Xmas & New Years are very important in the US, but Americans like their holidays. July 4 is always big since it’s in the summer along with Memorial & Labor Days. They bookmark the summer season.

A1 We visit parents over Christmas/Boxing Day usually (to get stuffed) and then bugger off somewhere nice for a couple of days! It's going to be a little different this year as Seville was cancelled. #PTTravel

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie #pttravel A1: I tend to avoid holiday seasons as costs go up, availability goes down, and it's just more fraught.

That said ... I appear to be fond of Independence Days, having seen them in Vanuatu, Kyrgyzstan, and (almost) Estonia.
