Colours of the world

A4 #pttravel Good if you want to convey a sense of timelessness in your photo. What do you think?
A4 #pttravel Very little, but I did do this comparison of color, sepia & black & white overlooking the main hall at Ellis Island, NY.
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A3: The beautiful old Forth Rail Bridge in Scotland + a well placed red post box ;-) #PTTravel

@kate_frankie #pttravel A4: I do, but I don't seem to have properly-edited ones of those I took of the old railway near my real house.
Instead here's a snow scene from the woods near where I used to work that may, or may not, be in B/W. I'm honestly not sure.

@kate_frankie A4: Black and white is revealing, it's about light and shadow. it's textural first. I think it has its own nuance, and I am a big fan.
As some of you may've noticed ;-)

A4- Black and white photos set a mood that you can't capture with color. I need to do more

replying to @RTWBarefoot @kate_frankie #pttravel A4: sometimes I do experiment with B&W pics too when the lighting/setting means the original image in colour isn't great quality (too grainy - ISO needed to be too high). Yep, a cheat lol!
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A4 Not often as I like to remember places as they were. However if itโs a vintagey-type-historical-place-thingy then it could work in a b&w photo. This was taken in the โSecretโ nuclear bunker in Essex #PTTravel
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A4: Sure. they seem to fit the mood better at times. #pttravel

@kate_frankie A4 #PTtravel photos in Black & White.
Ansel Adams is my 'hero', love trying to replicate his B&W mastery,.
replying to @RTWBarefoot @kate_frankie #pttravel A3: red apple in snow. Taken for a friend's book cover. She never used it in the end. But still ... :)
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie Salar de Uyuni in Bolivia is VERY blue especially in wet season (which gives the reflective floor effect)! Such a popular tourist destination but still managed to completely blow my mind ๐ #PTTravel
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A4. Yup allll the time. I think B&W helps to focus on the subject without the distraction of colour. Sepia I just like the tones, makes the image more dramatic (imo ๐). #PTTravel
A4 Also, slightly off the question, I do like black and white buildings as I love the Tudor beam type look! #PTTravel
